It gave me a more comfortable POV on the quantum universe
The author's creds may not be at the level of Stephen Hawking, but she captured the essential questions and possible answers I've been puzzling over since first stumbling into quantum mechanics in the 1960s. To understand quantum physics, you have to learn the language, the math. I never could do the math, but I knew Physicists and spent many bleary nights discussing quantum science with them as well as read innumerable books about it. There is a mystical quality to quantum physics that either drives physicists nuts, turns them toward religion, or is blocked out of their thinking. They simply accept the absurdities of the quantum world. Zohar attempts to put "it" together to see how the quantum and macro worlds interface. You are left deciding about what the mysteries mean, but you have a better understanding of the difficulties in making sense of it all. I think that's probably the best anyone can expect from a non-math perspective. I read it twice.

Life changing information
I read this book back in the nineties and it absolutely changed my perspective on so many aspects of life that I was unsure of.I recently purchased it as a Christmas gift for my sister to help her understand the passing of our mother a little better. This is a very easy book to read and is a definite page turner if you are at all interested in quantum physics, the meaning of life and what happens after we die. Danah manages to turn a very technical and confusing subject, quantum physics/mechanics, into a logical and simple formula.I have yet to read her other works, but Danah Zohar has a special place in my mind, heart and spirit for waking me up to the elemental nature of the reality in which we exist.

A somewhat dated but still an interesting read about Quantum physics and consciousness.
For more than a decade I have been reading numerous books on astronomy, cosmology, quantum physics and related fields. In fact, I still search for new and unique books on the above subjects.Even though this soft cover book was published more than 30 years ago, making it a somewhat dated volume (The Quantum Self: Human nature and conscious defined by the new physics by Dana Zohar, Pub, 1990, 269 pages) I decided to purchase it anyway, while shopping on Amazon.Even though I was now familiar with most of the information this book contained; nevertheless, I found it to be a good review and it did present a somewhat different approach to the mind, body and consciousness as it relates to research conducted on quantum physics. This is organized into sixteen chapters focusing on the following material: A physics of everyday life, what’s new about the new physics? Consciousness and the cat, are electrons conscious? Consciousness and the brain: two classical models, a quantum mechanical model of consciousness of mind and body, quantum identity, quantum intimacy, the survival of the self: quantum immortality, the foundations of a new quantum psychology, quantum responsibility, and the creative self: ourselves as coauthors of the world, quantum aesthetics, the quantum vacuum and the God within and the quantum world view.In conclusion, this is an early book on quantum physics and how its discoveries have had impact on how we view science and the esoteric issues; however, if you are new to the subject this is a good place to start your research into the subject.Rating: 4 stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Zen Poetry Moments: Haiku and Senryu for special occasions).

It rewires your thinking.
Quantum self is an awesome book. I read it years ago, and have bought several copies for friends. Better than any book I've ever read it explains the thinking process, and helps understand differences in they way people think. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it.

Different, Great Book That Hasn't Been Properly Recognized for ITS INSIGHTS
Great Book by a very good author. Her comment saying quantum leadership equates to servant leadership is right on! We need more physicists who translate scientific discovery into our lives in a practice and useful way.

The Physics and Metaphysics Convergence
This is a well-articulated presentation of the new emerging quantum worldview - a worldview that sees consciousness as a quantum mechanical phenomenon. Personally, the author help me to resolve some philosophical issues - namely, the mind/body problem, free will vs. determinism, the problem of the one and the many, and the God-world relationship. I highly recommend this book for those who are interested in integrating their spirituality with science. It will alter the way you see the world.
