This was a pretty good lipstick! The price is so affordable, which is one of the reasons that I am a fan of Nyx. The formula is pretty nice. Unlike they're liquid lipsticks, this formula isn't too drying. As with any matte lip color, it will create a drying effect on your lips, but it was not as bad as I was expecting. I could go through my day without feeling like I had to constantly reapply Chapstick and the formula doesn't immediately create that cracking, clumping effect. There was only a slight cracking after a couple hours, but I feel like that's not really avoidable and it was barely noticeable. Surprisingly, my lips still felt soft when I touched them and it stayed on pretty well! If you want to avoid too much clumping, I suggest cleaning your lips entirely, then reapplying the color after a few hours.As for the color, it is so cute! I advise people to pay attention to the description. As the description says, it is a pinkish/mauve color. However, the picture kind of makes it look more like a brown-toned "nude", which I'm totally fine with. I actually bought it because I was looking for a cute nude color anyway. When applied initially, the color does resemble a pink/light brown, but as it dries throughout the day, it fades to that "nudish" pink with a hint of mauve. It is both subtle yet striking, casual yet a statement lipstick. In a certain light, it does kind of wash me out a little bit, but paired with a darker eye look it evens out the coloring of my face. Would recommend!

This lipstick is a beautiful shade of red. Wears nicely.

Up The Bass (Gray Purple) is NOT gray purple. It has red in it. I am disappointed with the labeling and will not purchase it again.

I do enjoy the color and the matte finish. The texture is not ideal. The tube does not stay extended, is cheap plastic and is problematic. The quality is overall lacking and the price is high for what you get.

This is a very good matte lipstick. The factors I use to determine this are ease of use, true to color, fragrance/taste, texture, and lasting power. First of all, the tube is just like any other lipstick. It was new, sealed, sent to me in a box which was way bigger than I expected. It twists up like any other lipstick. Stays up, goes down like it's supposed to function. Is it true to color? Yes, and no. I think that the lighting of the photo shown here on the product description seems much brighter than it should be. The lipstick is a gorgeous glam color. I think it's just perfect and I love it. But I will say that I checked MANY other pics and swatches prior to purchasing and determined based on blogger opinions whether this would suit my skin color. It works. I love it because it can be natural and everyday as well as glammed up with some serious eye makeup. The lipstick itself is matte so you have to be aware that the texture is going to be slightly thicker than your average glossy or even just regular lipstick. I'm okay with this because it's matte and it needs to stay put. I drink a lot of tea during the day and water from a bottle and it still stayed fairly in place. That was a great plus for me. But I'm also careful about dabbing and not wiping my mouth with a napkin because it's like just removing your lipstick at the end of the day. I would recommend it. And I am going to look into getting more colors too. Hope this helps you!

I thought it would be a darker shade of purple based on the pictures shown before buying. It is a lighter purple color but I still like it. It stays on for several hours with minimal transfer.This color reminds me of a lilac color but a few shades darker.
