Getz/Gilberto 50th Anniversary

Got the CD because I rarely bothered to listened to the original vinyl, which I've had since the album came out. Probably my favorite record of all time, so happy to have it in a convenient CD. (And for those of you who stream random items, it does matter to hear the entire album in order.) The relative volumes of bass and treble are perfect, which is often a problem on jazz albums. The best saxophone music of all time, and the most ecstatic sense of timelessness and joy and peace. Getz/Gilberto are unsurpassable.

This is a classic! It's so good to calm down and relax, maybe taking a refreshing drink.

Definitely a must have album.

The five stars rating doesn't mean anything for it arrived scratched and the jewel case cracked. I was unable to listen to it.

I saw a video on YouTube and forgot how much I liked The Girl from Ipanema and it was mentioned that this album had not only that song but two other ones from my past. It's a great CD. Make yourself a lovel meal, drink some wine, relax, light a candle and listen to this CD.

Were it not for the badly cracked case, I'd definitely have given this a 5. The music and talent on this CD are definitely 5 star, a fine sampling of some of Brazil's finest, and Stan Getz is superb, adding depth and texture to a sultry collection. I love Jobim's timeless music, and this ranks high on my list.

Great music, with an outstanding interpretaion by saxaphone great Stan Getz. A real musician should listen intensely to these recordings and absorb the rythmns and techniques - masterful!!! ERSJR

So how can you go wrong buying the CD?!

Guys this is the best Bossa Nova that exists. While Jazz was undergoing a decay, Getz came up with his Brazilian friends to come up with this beautiful sounding, subtle music. I can't explain it, just listen to it and decide for yourself. The recording, especially the stereo master, is top drawer.

Über manche Alben freut man sich sehr und über manche noch mehr! Getz/Gilberto hatte ich bis jetzt als Live-Album in meinem Regal. Dann bin ich auf dieses Album zu einem sehr interessanten Preis gestoßen. Ich bin beeindruckt von der Ton-Qualität, von der Musik sowieso! Dieses Album kann man an einem gemütlichen Advent Wochenende genauso gut genießen wie an einem lauen Sommerabend. Kaufempfehlung!

Bossa Nova は好きで、CD も沢山持っております。 サックスとピアノ入りのものは、今回が初めてでした。 第一印象は「ユルい！」。驚きの緩さでした。 が、何度繰り返して聴いても、全く飽きません。 落手当日、ひどい風邪の症状に見舞われていたのですが、 翌日、いつの間にか収まっていました。 ユル～い、しかし心地良い音を聴いて、 身体の無駄な緊張が解きほぐされたのかもしれません。 ストレス社会で頑張り過ぎる人には、意外な良薬？ プレゼント用に追加購入してしまいました。 なお、ステレオとモノ、両録音の質感はたしかに違います。 私は後者の響きが好きですが、CDを2回かける手間が省けるのは有難い。 ギターと声だけで聴いてきた音楽が、 サックスとピアノでこんなにも豊かで幸せな味わいになるとは。 輸入盤で入手に時間はかかりましたが、 超良心的な価格で満足度の極めて高い一枚が手に入り、感謝しています。
