FARBIN 12V 80a Horn Wiring Harness Relay Kit and Horn Push Button with 3 Meters Wire (Wiring Harness+Button, 12V)

The clock spring broke in my daughters car, it's a part inside the sterring wheel, and the horn would not work. Fuses were good, horns tested good, but no click in the relay when she pressed the horn. I was looking for a temporary solution until we could afford to have it serviced. This kit was everything I needed to get the horn working again. Never realized how much you need a horn until you don't have one.

My horn stopped working and I didn't want to go through the hassle of removing my steering wheel to fix the buttons. So I just bought this harness and button and a set of hella horns all together was about $30. The instructions were no help at all, so if you know how to wire things this should be simple. Took me two tries to get it right and about 30 minutes to fully get it installed and working. I'll update the review after a few months of using it but so far so good.

The horn wasn’t working on my sons first car. In PA a working horn is a requirement for the safety inspection. I installed the new waiting harness and - nothing. I checked the ground, it was good. I checked the hot wire, it was good all the way to the relay switch. After wasting well over two hours troubleshooting, I cut out all of the wiring I just installed for the relay and went “old school”. I wired the push button into a new lead from the battery directly to the horn and then grounded the horn to the body.I was disappointed that I wasted close to three hours trying to make this relay harness work when it was actually a 10 minute job wiring it directly to the battery.I do not recommend this item. Your mileage may vary…

The details on the installation manual are iffy at best since they are only images and not super specific. The relay needs a hot 12v, a ground, wired to the horns, and a wire for the "button" depending on whether your factory button is ground or positive makes the difference in how it's wired. I popped the ends off the button that came with this kit and wired directly to my horn button in my truck. Works great and horns go beep every time I push the button.

Installed it, horns worked right off. Wired it just as directions prescribed, however the next morning my battery was dead. Tried wiring it multiple ways to figure out what was wrong, but still drained battery. Tested the relay with a multimeter, and ironically seemed to test fine, but battery still drained despite this and I was having a hard time tracking down any parasitic draw. Went to auto parts store and bought a $9 Dorman 12V 4-pin relay, battery drain problem ceased entirely. Working fine after another week of use, so overall can't complain.

Cool gadget! Though my car alarm is connected to horn, I had to forfeit my alarm to get this product installed. But its really worth. I rather have the safety of having a horn. Horn can prevent an accident. Can't drive around without a horn. But I can still lock my doors with my key fob. So yeah, need a functioning horn, get a FARBIN. Outstanding value and quality. Get one!
