This product works great. Cures injured fish.
A friend of mine sells Mellaluca products, so when I saw that API had a Mellaluca product for pond fish, I purchased a bottle to keep on hand for "just-in-case". Sure enough, this spring one of my older Koi was injured when a blind English Mastiff misjudged their proximity to the pond and fell in (she was rescued quickly as we were very close by). The next morning I saw a half-dollar size wound on my Koi. I grabbed this bottle and read the directions and treated the entire pond in case there was more than one injury. Within 7 days, the Koi was completely healed and looks great. This is a great product for pond- and fish-keepers.

My Go-To “Fish Tylenol” – A Must-Have for Any Fish Keeper!
My Go-To “Fish Tylenol” – A Must-Have for Any Fish Keeper!I like to call this my “Fish Tylenol” because it’s become my go-to remedy whenever one of my fish seems a little off or under the weather. I know that’s not its official name, but the comfort and relief it seems to provide is undeniable. With several tanks and lots of fish, occasional issues are inevitable—whether it’s stress, minor illness, or just a rough day. This product helps ease those moments and gives my fish the TLC they deserve. It’s gentle, effective, and has made a noticeable difference in their recovery and overall well-being.I bought the large size because I use it regularly and want to make sure I always have it on hand. If you care deeply about your fish and want to support them when they need a little help, I can’t recommend this enough!

It is effective.
It cures a verity of pound diseases, This product has been around for a long time. I had fin rot a winter disease that killed my prize Koi. I treated the pound for seven days and saved the remaining fish. It has a very mild smell not unpleasant and does not change water color. The 64 once size is the best buy for the money. I had about a quarter bottle left over after treating a 22x 12 pound. It is easy to use you have to remove any carbon filters but I do not have them just measure and dump it in.

Worked to heal wound
This worked to heal the wound on one of my koi. Would have given 5 starts except the treatment required turning off the UV lights in the filters. After one week of treatment, the wound was healed, but my pond is left with green cloudy water. Still working to get it all back flushed even with the UV lights on 24/7 again.

Seems to do the job
I had 1 fish i was worried about fin rot, it was my main fish 30 inches long butterfly Koi. He had what looked like a sore on rear tail/fin a few days after cleaning the filters... just to be careful I treated the water with this product, it left bubbles a half inch deep over the entire pond, I was concerned but 2x checked everything would be ok... a few days later the fish we extra lively and the colors seem to be brighter. I have since treated the water again with out any issue, fish don't seem to mind at all.

My go to medication for minor damage on my koi.
Easy to treat a large pond. I believe it helped repair a lot of fin damage when an otter got in my koi pond a bit up all the fins on my koi. They healed up nicely.

Killed everything in my tank including my crayfish
I have been using melafix for at least 2-3 years now. Never had a problem using it. I had a fish that had a little bit of tattering on her fins I don't know if it was from ick or being nibbled on by her tank mates. So I purchased this, thinking that if I needed to treat a large tank for a long period of time it would save me some money. I normally purchased the little 64 oz bottles. I followed the directions and added this to my tank for the amount of water. My daughter went in to check on everybody this morning and every single fish in my tank, and all of my crayfish, were dead. I tried to save a little bit of money by going with a bigger bottle for the price. And shot myself in the foot. I now have a 45 gallon tank with no fish and no crayfish. And I'm out the money for this that I can't even use because clearly it isn't good stuff.

Koi Saver
Our 10 year old Koi looked like it was about to die. It was lying on its side listless, and would only move a little bit when we touched it with our net. It remained like this for days until we started, putting in the API KOI MELAFIX 1/2 cup daily for about 9 days. (1200 gallon pond)Today he/she is swimming around and eating. It is truly remarkable and I can only attribute it to this amazing turnaround to the Melafix. Thank you for saving Marty! We will always have this on hand!
