I am from a country in Africa. When I was reading this book, I felt overly uncomfortable as the images used in this book looked nothing like me. Countries in Asia are well-represented in this book but very few if there are any representative images of the African people.In Germany, there are so many Black people. But I don't understand why their images are not in this book. Don't Black people in Germany speak German?

The best part about this book for me is that it is compact. All you need is one book and your cell phone for all the media material. No more buying of expensive media package etc. And everybody has equal access to it, the teacher as well as the students. Of course the book itself might be more expensive because of that...don't know, but as a private lesson teacher not belonging to any institution this style is better. In the past the burden was always on me to buy the videos and everything. I'm glad we don't need to accumulate a lot of material anymore, which goes for other textbooks, too, not just this one of course. Listening transcripts for the listening exercises and videos are also included.But in regard to content and structure I'm not completely satisfied (but I'm hardly satisfied with any of the textbooks I have worked with over the years). First of all I find the font too small, publishers forget not everybody is 18 years old, I myself am not the youngest anymore and also many of my students are middle aged or seniors.Other critiques I have are a bit difficult to put in writing, grammar explanation and exercises not sufficient, instructions not so clear, the biggest issue for me is that the workbook exercises have no indication to what exercise in the textbook they respond to. All in all I wouldn't say it's bad but could be a lot better, and probably it's not so suitable for complete beginners, not in Japan at least, for false beginners more likely. But that goes for many other textbooks as well unfortunately.

No sé qué número de edición es ni si hay ediciones más nuevas, pero la verdad es que es muy cansino estar intentando hacer ejercicios, comerte la cabeza porque no salen y descubrir que es por culpa de las erratas que tiene el libro. Hay fallos en conjugaciones verbales, en ejercicios de escucha, incluso en los de relacionar con flechas. A todo esto aclaro que solo voy por el tema 1 del libro y ya he encontrado muchos problemas. Decepcionada con la compra.
