Effective Against Los Angeles Apartment Roaches. Get it now.
I was you once. I scrolled through Amazon looking for effective roach bait, scrutinizing reviews like a lawyer reading cases, trying method after method to get rid of my non-paying roach roommates. I'm telling you now, GET THIS PRODUCT!In the light of transparency, I'm going to share my story. My husband and I moved into our first apartment together, a cheap and near-dilapidated two-story property in the San Fernando Valley. When I say near-dilapidated, imagine sinking 3 inches into your floor every time you take a step due to water damage. Our downstairs neighbor was the suspected roach collector.I'm a clean person who enjoys living vicariously through HGTV. Imagine my horror when we saw our first cockroach sauntering about the apartment, saying, "You guys are nasty and I'm going to walk on you in the middle of the night." Immediately, we contacted our Slumlady, and the vendors were there to spread Advion Roach Gel all over our kitchen cabinets and bathroom. To this day, I'm not sure if Advion is supposed to kill roaches or invite them into your home, because all it did was feed their wicked appetite. I'll never forget cooking a meal, walking to my desk (sinking every step of the way), looking back, and seeing 4 roaches climbing into my pot for their share. We tried foggers, more gel, more work order tickets. On two separate occasions in our one-year lease, vendors came to spray the building, but to no avail. I'm sure that the walls were more roach than plywood. Finally, like you, I was found in my bed, shaking and crying, looking for someone - anyone - to have conquered what I was going through in these Amazon reviews. HotShot is cheap, I had tried everything else, and I gave it a go.There's no tubes, no prep, no laundry list of instructions; just take the tabs off and put them down. We placed one under the sink, one behind the fridge, next to the trash, one in the cabinets, one by the toilet, and one next to our tub. First day, I saw slowly suffering roaches crawling about the floor. Second day, only dead roaches. Third day on, nothing. Well, every once in a while, I'd see a baby, far from innocent, crawling towards a trap.I can accept that in dilapidated Los Angeles apartments with mentally questionable neighbors that roaches are an inevitability. I can accept the merciless killing of a mindless baby roach every now and then. But I cannot accept these roaches walking into my pot of delicious fettuccine in broad daylight. In an apartment, HotShot can't fumigate your whole building, but it can keep the unwanted visitors out of your unit. Get it now.

Works Great & So Easy to Use!
I’m really impressed with this Hot Shot Ultra Liquid Roach Bait! It’s super convenient to use and makes dealing with unwanted roaches so much easier. I love that the bait stations are ready to use, so there’s no complicated setup or mess. The compact design makes it easy to place in different areas where roaches may be a problem without taking up much space. Having 6 bait stations in the pack is also great because you can place them in multiple areas at once.I’ve been very happy with the results and love having an easy solution on hand for keeping my home protected. Easy to use, convenient, effective, and definitely worth having around.

Effective and Easy to Use!
These Hot Shot Liquid Roach Baits are easy to use and very convenient. The small containers are easy to place in areas where roaches tend to hide. The application is simple and mess-free. A practical option for keeping roaches under control.

An "over the counter" product that actually works
Obviously, if you have a full-on, house-wide, out of control infestation, you call the professionals. These traps/bait are NOT going to be the easy, miracle fix for that. However, if you're like me, living in a humid and urban environment, things happen and during this miserable California summer I had roaches crawling around my warm electronics, creeping around my bedroom trash can, attacking the snacks I keep in my closet (I have roommates). The key is placement. Don't place the bait next to what they're attracted to. Place the bait AWAY from their targets. Along your floors and baseboards, under the dresser not in the drawers, etc. They crawl UP to get to things. Hit them at the ground where they come from, hit them in the dark corners where they come from. This product does work if used smartly and correctly

Great product
I live in an apartment with pest control company treating too many times and not eradicating the roaches. I tried just about any safe roach pesticide I could pay for.I put the Liquid Roach units down and within hours, the roaches were crawling the walls. I found them dead them on the dead soon after.I highly recommend this product

This stuff is magic and safe for pets! Combo with gel bait!
Ok so we have never had a roach problem before this apartment. Bottom floor and apparently our building neighbors are not as clean as the last ones because as soon as we moved in a year and a half ago, there were problems. Mainly ants to start and the roach problem intensified as time went on. (We are in Vegas where these critters run the streets.) We tried everything from the actual pest control man (he sprayed and they walked around within a day) to other sprays, essential oils and all. We have cats too so we have to buy pet safe products.Ok so a year and half in, we are trying baits and traps because it’s gotten so out of hand. We set these around the fridge, the stove, the dishwasher, the water dispenser (which is next to cat food & water), on top of the kitchen counter by the stove (they crawl up the wall behind it) and in the bathroom. Immediately we noticed a difference. Would see the roaches dying on their backs a few inches from the traps. WE WERE GETTING SOMEWHERE. Even had some run from me straight into the traps. These WORK. And they work very well and very fast.We continued this trend and got some gel roach bait in attempts to kill the colony. Placed those around the same places as well as under the couch and in closets. They’re definitely eating off of them, have even seen a few grabbing pieces to take back to their friends (which we allowed those ones to live with the knowledge that they were unknowingly assisting our efforts). Those ALSO work very well. We are sweeping dead roaches every morning.Something I would suggest is to lay these out EVERYWHERE with the gel baits. Especially if your problem is a bad one. Our remaining roaches have now begun migrating to the bedroom because we didn’t have as many baits/traps in there (because they weren’t in there before now). So we’ve placed those around the room and added extras in the bathroom, as well.Obviously this is not the end all be all and caulking needs to happen, however we are unable to do that as renters of an apartment, and their pest control is extremely lackluster. Our lease is up in June so we are hoping that these can keep things managed enough not to see roaches scurry every time we turn in the kitchen light. So far it’s helping a ton!I added a photo of the gel baits as well.

Hot Shot Liquid Roach Bait - A Mixed Bag in Roach Control
IntroductionWhen you have a roach infestation, it’s a non-stop battle until the critters are finally eradicated. I, unfortunately, found myself facing a stubborn infestation that was not only unnerving but also raised concerns about hygiene. With high hopes, I opted for Hot Shot Liquid Roach Bait, lured by its claim of being an effective roach killer. The 6-Count 1-Pack option seemed convenient and practical. Having used it for over a month now, my opinions about the product are mixed.Initial Impressions and UnboxingThe Hot Shot Liquid Roach Bait comes in a simple package that provides straightforward instructions. The initial impression is one of ease and convenience. The box contains six bait stations, which seemed adequate for my small apartment. Each station is meant to attract roaches with a liquid formula, which they consume and eventually die. While this appeared to be a neat, hassle-free method of roach extermination, my experience turned out to be a little more nuanced.Ease of Use: Uncomplicated, but is it Effective?Installation was a breeze. The bait stations were easy to set up in the kitchen, bathroom, and under the cabinets—places where roaches are frequently sighted. I appreciated that no advanced preparation was required. However, a crucial point to consider is that the bait stations work best in locations where they remain undisturbed, which may not always be possible in busy households.First Week of Use: Patience RequiredFor the first week, I noticed a very slight decrease in roach activity. The bait stations did seem to attract the roaches, but the results were not immediate. I decided to exercise patience, as the box suggested that significant results might take up to two weeks.Performance after Two Weeks: Noteworthy but LimitedBy the end of two weeks, there was a noticeable reduction in the number of roaches, particularly in the kitchen area. The bait seemed to be working, but it was clear that it was not a quick fix. Also, I observed that while the adult roaches were decreasing in number, I still noticed some smaller, younger roaches.A Month in: Limited Longevity and Selective EffectivenessAfter using the bait stations for a full month, several concerns arose. Firstly, the bait’s effectiveness seemed to diminish after 3 weeks, requiring me to replace the stations sooner than I’d anticipated. Secondly, while the product significantly reduced adult roaches, smaller ones seemed less affected, which raises questions about the bait’s efficacy across different roach life stages.Safety Concerns: Keep Away from Pets and ChildrenAnother critical aspect worth mentioning is safety. The bait contains chemicals harmful to pets and children. Though the bait stations are designed to be tamper-resistant, they are not entirely foolproof. I had to be extremely careful to place them in areas inaccessible to my pet cat, which limited my options.Comparison with Alternatives: An Okay Option but Not the BestBefore using Hot Shot Liquid Roach Bait, I had tried a couple of other roach control options like sprays and gels. In comparison, the Hot Shot bait stations are less messy and more user-friendly but fall short in terms of overall effectiveness and longevity.Cost Factor: Economical but Not Entirely Cost-EffectiveIn terms of cost, the Hot Shot Liquid Roach Bait is relatively economical, especially when compared to hiring professional pest control services. However, the need for frequent replacements does add up over time, affecting its overall cost-effectiveness.Environmental Concerns: Disposable but Not BiodegradableThe bait stations are disposable, which is convenient but not environmentally friendly. The plastic used is not biodegradable, adding to environmental concerns. In today’s age, where sustainability is a growing concern, this is something the manufacturer could improve upon.Customer Service: Average SupportWhen I reached out to Hot Shot’s customer service with queries about the reduced effectiveness over time, the response was polite but not particularly helpful. They reiterated the instructions on the box, suggesting that for severe infestations, more time might be needed. This was somewhat disappointing.Final Verdict: Middle-of-the-Road in Pest ControlAfter a month of using Hot Shot Liquid Roach Bait, my conclusions are mixed. While the product does show some effectiveness in reducing adult roaches, it does not appear to be a comprehensive solution for roach control. The limited longevity, selective effectiveness across roach life stages, and environmental concerns make it a less than ideal choice for long-term use.In sum, Hot Shot Liquid Roach Bait offers a middling performance. If you have a minor infestation and are looking for a convenient, short-term solution, this could be an option worth considering. However, for those facing a severe or persistent roach problem, you might need to look elsewhere for a more potent and comprehensive solution.Other User Experiences: A Mixed BagTalking to neighbors and friends who have used this product, it became clear that my experience was not an isolated case. Some reported decent success, but many shared concerns about its long-term effectiveness. Social media reviews further corroborated these mixed results.Chemical Composition: Effective Yet Potentially HarmfulThe chemical composition of Hot Shot Liquid Roach Bait is another facet worth diving into. The active ingredient is fipronil, a widely used insecticide. While effective, fipronil is a chemical that can have harmful environmental impacts, especially if it finds its way into water systems. Therefore, disposal of the used bait stations should be carried out responsibly.Aesthetic Factors: Unobtrusive but NoticeableAesthetically, the bait stations are designed to be unobtrusive. They can easily be tucked away in corners, under cabinets, or behind appliances. However, it’s important to note that they are still visible if someone is looking, and may not be the best option for those who prioritize interior aesthetics.Shelf Life: LimitedAlthough the product has a relatively long shelf life, once opened, its effectiveness diminishes significantly over time. For those buying in bulk, this is a factor to consider. You may find yourself with unused bait stations that are not as potent as when initially purchased.Complex Infestations: May Require Additional MeasuresFor those dealing with a more complex infestation that includes not just roaches but also other pests like ants or spiders, this product will not suffice. You will need to invest in additional pest control measures, making it less cost-effective than it initially appears.Application Versatility: Limited to In-Home UseThe Hot Shot Liquid Roach Bait is mainly designed for in-home use. It is not ideal for outdoor infestations or for use in conditions where it could be exposed to the elements. This limited application versatility further restricts its usefulness.Refund Policy: Standard but RigidHot Shot offers a standard return policy, but it is fairly rigid. You would have to return the product largely unused and within a limited time window, which, given the nature of the product, is not very practical.Effect on Other Household Insects: NegligibleWhile the product targets roaches, it would be a boon if it had some effect on other common household pests. Unfortunately, it seems to have negligible effects on ants, flies, or any other insect you wouldn’t want around, making it a one-trick pony.Potential for Improvement: PlentyThe product has several areas where it could improve. More eco-friendly materials, a longer-lasting formula, and perhaps a design that could make it more pet and child-safe are just a few points where enhancements could make a significant difference. Conclusion: Good for Short-Term, Not for Long-TermAfter a deep dive into my experience and the various facets of Hot Shot Liquid Roach Bait, it’s evident that while the product does offer some advantagessuch as ease of use and initial effectiveness, it falls short in several crucial areas. Its limited longevity, selective effectiveness across different roach stages, and environmental impact make it less suitable for long-term roach control. Therefore, while it may serve as a short-term solution for minor infestations, it doesn’t replace the need for more comprehensive, long-term solutions, particularly for severe or complex roach problems. In a market crowded with alternatives, the Hot Shot Liquid Roach Bait is not a standout product but rather a middle-of-the-road option that may or may not suit your specific needs. If you’re facing a roach problem that requires immediate, albeit temporary relief, then this could be an option. Otherwise, you might be better off considering other methods that offer a more holistic and long-lasting solution to your pest problems.Final Thoughts and Recommendations: Proceed with CautionIn conclusion, my nuanced experience with Hot Shot Liquid Roach Bait places it firmly in the “average” category. While its ease of use and initial effectiveness might make it seem like a simple and straightforward solution, a closer look reveals several limitations and downsides. For those who are seeking a quick fix or who have a minor, isolated infestation, this product may provide some relief. However, for households dealing with more extensive, ongoing roach problems, or for those concerned about environmental impact, other, more comprehensive and sustainable solutions are likely a better fit.Given the mixed reviews, and my own observations, I would recommend Hot Shot Liquid Roach Bait as a supplementary measure rather than a complete solution. If you do opt to use it, I suggest pairing it with other, longer-term roach control methods and taking care to follow the instructions and disposal guidelines to the letter.Cost-to-Effectiveness Ratio: Could Be BetterWhile the product isn’t expensive, the cost-to-effectiveness ratio could be better. Given its limitations, you might find yourself needing to buy multiple packs over a short period, thereby increasing the overall cost. In the long run, investing in a more effective, albeit more expensive, roach control solution might offer better value for money.Final Rating: 3 StarsTaking all of these factors into account, I would rate the Hot Shot Liquid Roach Bait a solid 3 out of 5 stars. It has its merits but leaves much to be desired in terms of long-term effectiveness, environmental impact, and versatility. For those dealing with minor infestations or looking for a stop-gap solution, it might be worth a try. However, for anyone dealing with a larger, more persistent problem, I would advise considering alternative options that offer more robust and enduring solutions to your roach-related woes.

Works great for me
It works great with German roaches. It is not messy, has no odor, it is not sticky cause it is liquid, and the instructions are easy to use. I put it out of sight in the back of my refrigerator and stove. It is versatile because it does kill the large roaches as well as the small ones. When it rains for some reason the large flying roaches come in and start to fly so we got this also for them. It is very consistent. I also use it in the bathroom in back of my toilet because the bath tub has a leak and the roaches go to drink water, however, I do find a lot of dead bodies because they drink that instead before they reach the tub. This was my second time buying this bundle and I will definitely buy more.
