Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe team up to investigate the case of a missing girl in this thriller co-written and directed by Shane Black. After becoming involved with the Mob, Amelia (Margaret Qualley) mysteriously disappears. Enforcer Jackson Healy (Crowe) and down-on-his-luck private investigator Holland March (Gosling) are recruited to find her and set out on a complex and high-profile investigation which leads them all over 1970s Los Angeles. With media interest increasing and their own personal safety called into doubt, the duo come across the seemingly unconnected death of a porn star, a discovery which sheds new light on a conspiracy that leads right to the highest echelons of power. The cast also includes Kim Basinger, Angourie Rice and Matt Bomer. Review: Love this movie - "The Nice Guys" is an absolute gem of a movie that masterfully blends action, comedy, and a dash of noir into a wildly entertaining ride. Directed by Shane Black, this 2016 film is one of those rare movies that balances sharp humor with a genuinely engaging mystery. Pros: Dynamic Duo: The chemistry between Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe is nothing short of electric. Gosling plays Holland March, a down-on-his-luck private investigator, with a perfect mix of bumbling incompetence and unexpected sharpness. Crowe, as the tough but principled enforcer Jackson Healy, brings a gritty, no-nonsense edge. Together, they create a mismatched pair that is both hilarious and oddly heartwarming. Sharp Script: The dialogue in "The Nice Guys" is witty, quick, and often laugh-out-loud funny. Shane Black’s writing shines through with clever one-liners, running gags, and a refreshing lack of political correctness. The humor is dark, dry, and often surprising, making for a consistently entertaining experience. 1970s Vibe: Set in 1970s Los Angeles, the film nails the period details. From the fashion and music to the smoky, neon-lit bars and gritty streets, the movie fully immerses you in its era. The nostalgic feel is enhanced by the retro soundtrack, which adds to the movie’s cool, laid-back vibe. Engaging Plot: While the movie is undoubtedly funny, it also delivers on the mystery front. The plot, revolving around the investigation of a missing girl and a seemingly unrelated death of a porn star, is twisty and intriguing. It keeps you guessing without ever taking itself too seriously, making it a fun yet compelling watch. Balanced Tone: What sets "The Nice Guys" apart from other buddy-cop movies is its ability to balance humor with moments of genuine emotion. The characters are well-developed, with layers that go beyond their comedic personas. This depth adds an unexpected weight to the story, making the film more than just a series of gags. Cons: Not for Everyone: The humor in "The Nice Guys" can be dark and irreverent, which might not appeal to all viewers. It’s a film that embraces its R-rating, with plenty of violence, adult humor, and some explicit content. If you’re sensitive to any of these elements, this might not be the movie for you. Pacing: Some parts of the film can feel a bit chaotic or uneven, with the plot jumping quickly from one event to the next. While this frenetic pace adds to the movie’s energy, it might leave some viewers wishing for a bit more breathing room to fully absorb the twists and turns. Overall Impression: "The Nice Guys" is a refreshingly original take on the buddy-cop genre, offering a perfect mix of laughs, action, and a solid mystery. Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe are at the top of their game, delivering performances that are both hilarious and surprisingly heartfelt. The film’s 1970s setting adds a unique flavor, making it stand out in a sea of modern action-comedies. If you’re in the mood for something fun, smart, and just a little bit offbeat, "The Nice Guys" is definitely worth a watch. It’s the kind of movie that sticks with you long after the credits roll, and one you’ll want to revisit again and again. Review: Nice guys movie - I love this movie and will never pass it up when I can watch it! I highly recommend for a good laugh!

Hilarious
Absolutely hilarious from start to finish. The chemistry between the cast is perfect, and the dialogue is sharp, awkward, and genuinely laugh-out-loud funny. It has that classic buddy-comedy vibe but with a darker, more modern twist that keeps it interesting. Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe play off each other incredibly well, the timing, physical comedy, and one-liners all land. It’s one of those movies that gets funnier on rewatch because you catch little background jokes and subtle moments you missed the first time. If you like smart humor, ridiculous situations, and great character dynamics, this one’s a must-watch.

Worth the watch!
I enjoyed this movie. The seventies scenes, cars, wardrobes and vibes were great. I really enjoy both stars - you can like their characters. Good plot. Some pretty funny moments. This movie was nowhere on my radar but it shows up as a recommendation when I did a search for comedies and it was worth the watch!

You will laugh a few times , mostly in the second half since the first half seems it tries too hard. You will wonder where Maximus Decimus Meridius went too, he's been replaced by Sir Les Patterson

3,4 Sterne? Viele Dinge passieren in kleinen Nebensätzen. Selbe Machart. Selbe positive Wirkung auf mich. Wunderbar. :)

Great comedy duo, Crowe and Gosling are amazing to watch and stuff. Ah, don’t say or write and stuff, just say amazing to watch. The image of the 70s is nicely captured and Keith David is always a character to watch and let the comedy ensue. picture quality and sound is 5/5 out of 5.
