Vinyl Edition: Includes download card and a third National poster which completes the triptych started in the first two vinyl National releases, the self-titled release and Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers. The National's sophomore album, Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers (2003), found the band emerging onto a larger stage. Uncut called it "a genuine treasure" and named it an album of the year; it was hailed by Rolling Stone and the indie media; and Magnet, La Liberation (Paris), and the Chicago Tribune were only a few of the publications to tap it for their year-end lists.

A National Treasure!
Ever hear a band that has been around for a while and think: "How have I not heard about these guys!" That's the case with The National. Imagine Leonard Cohen's love child forms a band, that's the sound of singer Matt Berninger, supported by a band that knows how to create just the right accompaniment to his haunting poetry. I bought their latest, then within a week bought the rest of their catalog. I just play them all on shuffle and they flow together seamlessly, carrying you along in every emotion under the sun.

a treasure
this band can do no wrong in my eyes.... took me a long time to buy this particular offering, but I am so glad I did. They are one of my all time favorite bands, along with REM, STP and Dylan. I have eclectic taste to be sure...but Matt Beringer has has vocals like no other and I love his songs...

An excellent EP with some of their best work
Such a good record. Tracks like Wasp Nest, Cherry Tree, All The Wine and the great About Today make it one of the best EPs ever. Add a great rendition of Murder Me Rachel and it's a must have for any music fan.

Great sound to this band!
I love this band. Smooth mellow music I can listen to over and over again. Highly recommend. If you like Augustines, I think you will like The National.

Nice bridge between albums
This EP is a nice bridge between albums. It contains "Murder Me Rachael" from Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers as well as "All the Wine" from Alligator. The last song's a dud, but don't let that stop you National fans from purchasing this album as most of the stuff starts to sound like what ended up becoming Alligator.

Love the national
Product came earlier than the time in which it was said. Great quality and great music. I love listening to it. The addition of the violin in many of the songs adds to this EP.

buy it.
First bought, trouble will find me,just from liking the album cover.never heard a note of theirs before. After that i bought all their music and cherry tree, is my favourite. So sutble, deep, gentle, moving, haunting and complete. the production on this album seems to be the sonic picture that fits this band perfectly. they've found their voice,so to speak. lucky.......It's all very well writing songs that chime within the bands members, but if the recording of those songs doesn't chime, then you've got a wreak. this is sublime.
