Thats the folded size of the package it ships in. I don't know why some sellers use shipping dimensions. It's annoying.

I bought the Medallion pink one as a gift for my granddaughter who was born Dec 2nd. It washes and dries well on gentle/low heat. It is thicker and more plush than a regular cotton receiving blanket. I was happy with my purchase.

Depends how warm you keep your home. I dress my baby similarly, but have a sheet between the blanket and my baby. We don't have central heating and it keeps him warm enough.
