Oster® Classic Series 8-Speed Blender with 6-Cup Glass Jar, Gray

I’ve been using the Oster Classic Series 8-speed blender, and it has been a great addition to my kitchen. I previously had an older Oster Classic model that lasted me about eight years, so I already trusted the brand and this new version actually feels even better. The 6-cup glass jar is sturdy and much higher quality than the lightweight plastic jars many blenders come with. It blends smoothly, and the 8 speeds give me good control for everything from smoothies to sauces. The motor is strong enough to handle ice and frozen fruit without struggling, and the base feels stable while running. It’s also easy to clean, which makes it convenient for everyday use. Excellent blender, very easy to use and with good power. It crushes fruit and ice without a problem and the glass cup feels sturdy. I like that it has multiple speeds and is easy to clean. Very good purchase for daily cooking.

This is my 2nd Oster blender. The first one (had it 5 yrs.) works just great. I bought this one for my husband's house so I can make my smoothies there too. It's a sturdy blender made with glass - so no microplastics coming into contact with food. What I love about it: I like the one I bought 5 yrs ago, and I like this one even better... Oster is a reliable brand that performs well over time. This model IS quieter than prior models, like the customer reviews say. Many setting options is great. Notes on use: > I hardly ever use the high settings. From my perspective, blending a smoothie a little longer, at a lower speed, is gentler on the blades and less noisy than the higher speeds. Perhaps the fact I use it gingerly is why it performs so well over time. So take care of your blender. > I clean it with a brush in the sink. Once in awhile I take it apart and wash the parts individually, but in my opinion, it doesn't need that kind of deeper cleaning that often. > Another tip: A friend showed me how he cleans his blender and it's brilliant - he puts hot water in with some dishsoap and blends it! Then rinse & air dry. This is probably the very best way to clean it. But if your chia seeds are stuck in there, use a sink sponge or brush. I will never understand why people spend so much on expensive fancy blenders when Oster makes very good products that do the job just fine at a reasonable price point.

It does what it is supposed to do. Sometimes you have to switch between modes but that's ok. The glass jar was the reason to get it, I just hoped I can reuse the one from the previous blender but I cannot. Two things need improvement. The fit in the base is very lose and you have to be a bit careful with that. The buttons are near impossible to clean so make sure you don't spill anything over it. But for the price I would recommend it, assumed that it lasts. Delivery is a sore point. First time it came damaged and had to be returned. Second time it came WITHOUT a box, just with a piece of plastic wrapped around one half of it and glued in such a way that I ripped of the top layer of the appliance box so it would be difficult to return.

This is a really great blender. I have been using Oster blender for over 20 yrs. It's fairly quiet and makes great smoothies. Cleans up good too.

I use this blender almost weekly to make pesto sauce and pizza sauce. I love that is is a glass jar. It works really well especially considering the price.

Why is the cord only 14 usable inches? I don't want to hear some stupid reason like "we can't have costumes putting it too close to a water source," because because my newly-constructed house has an outlet 15" away from the sink. The cord is 24" long but comes out of the bottom. My outlets are 10" off the countertop. Regardless of the reason, it's a dumb design for Oster to save money, I'm sure, because all product inconveniences boil down to saving customers from themselves, or saving money for the manufacturer. I'd pay $5 more for another 8-10" of cord. Besides that, this blender is easy to clean - which was a main feature I wanted - and it's not as loud as I was expecting. It's a good little blender at a reasonable price with a cord that's too short.
