Quality
Easy enough to install but not in a long Row. I had to install under 2 sets of Cabinets because of the length and width

A great overall value.
Easy installation with included screws. No instructions included but easy enough to figure out. I was lucky enough to be building from scratch, and could put my wine glasses down on the underside of the bar top to place the slats perfectly apart from each other. I found that many glasses have a different size base, up to about 1/4 inch, but spacing the rack sides 5 1/8 inches end to end gave a snug fit on my biggest based glasses (red wine glasses from different wineries). I would venture that spacing 5 1/4 inches apart, depending on your wine glass base size, this rack will accommodate all your stemware. They are well made for the price, and the wood is sealed with a light brown color, and the screws did not come through the other side of my 3/4 inch deep countertop. I would recommend pre-drilling your installation location, as the screws are a coarse thread and might split a natural wood if installed close to the end.If you are free hanging, I recommend gluing a wood block behind the rack ~ 1/2 inch. This will prevent glasses from falling out the back when placing them in.

Great for DIY!
We have a server in an alcove in our dining room, and I wanted floating shelves above it. I had another wine glass rack, but the bases of my wine glasses were to wide to fit. These worked perfectly. The ones I received did not have any finish on them, which worked well so that I could paint them to match my server. I also liked that they were individual slats so I could space them how I needed to for my wine glasses to fit.I would absolutely recommend for anyone who wants to DIY their own wine glass rack.

Not stainable!
I should have read the reviews. I too, had planned on staining these to match my cabinets. I stubbornly applied stain, even though it appeared to have a clear finish on it. Now I am wiping the stain off, which is a messy job, because the clear finish prevented it from soaking in. They're sticky and tacky and clearly I should have sanded them prior to staining. Also, I was planning on mounting underneath my cabinets. Because my cabinets have a 1 inch overhang on the bottom, which most cabinets to, these won't work and less I have a block to mount them on, otherwise, the glasses cannot fit in the hole as it would be covered up by the overhang. So I've now cut blocks to lower my wooden wine racks that I have to clean sand and restain. This is become an all day affair. I wish I would have found something else to use, but at this point I'm committed because I've messed them up with stain. Picture is of the stained blocks I've used to bump the wine racks down below the depth of the cabinet overhang, and did two later wine racks are the ones that I have white the stain off of. What a mess. These would be perfect for the inside of the cabinet, with their natural finish. However, that's not what I needed them for.

Limitations of wine glass racks
Wine Glass rack failureThe product, although well intention-ed, is a failure for any cabinets that have a bottom lip that extends about an inch past where the bottom of the cabinet ends, creating a one inch fence projecting from the bottom of the cabinet. My cabinets fall into that classification so that the very well done adjustable wine racks are not very useful, short of adding in an inch or so of wood to level out the cabinet's bottom, so that the wine glass racks work. The wine glass racks occupy a lot of horizontal space underneath any modified cabinet, so much so that it is much more efficient to simply put the glasses on the counter beneath the cabinet. Nice for those who can accommodate the wine glass racks, want the glasses off any counter top, and have a super nice look, but I am not one of those for the above reason. And I am referring to large wine glasses that have a base that is 4 inches in diameter, as in the Riedel Burgundy Sommeliers. I have returned the item.
