Poultice Stain Remover

THIS STUFF IS WONDERFUL!!!! I HAVE USED IT BEFORE FOR SMALL STAINS, BUT, RECENTLY I HAD A VERY LARGE DARKENING OF THE GRANITE BESIDE MY SINK ( ABOUT 6 INCHES BY ABOUT 3 INCHES) AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THIS STAIN CAME TO BE. I APPLIED MY POULTICE PASTE AND AFTER COVERING IT WITH PLASTIC WRAP I WAITED FOR THREE DAYS. I WAS SO AFRAID THE STAIN WOULD STILL BE THERE, BUT, IT WAS GONE. WHEN THE AREA DRIED ONE WOULD NEVER KNOW IT HAD BEEN THERE. THANK YOU FOR A PRODUCT THAT REALLY WORKS.

This product is a disaster. I used it on a small dark spot, and it completely ruined my granite—the stain got bigger and darker! Now I have a permanent eyesore on my countertop. Do NOT trust this product. It says it's safe for granite—that’s a lie. It damaged my surface and made things worse. Total garbage. Avoid at all costs!

There are 231 cubic inches in gallon 144 square inches per square foot 26 square feet would be 144*26 = 3,744 square inches. A depth of 1/4 inch means that 3744/4 = 936 cubic inches are needed. In other words, 936 cubic inches of volume are required to cover 26 square feet to a depth of 1/4 inch. 936/231 =4.0519 936 cubic inches divided by 231 cubic inches per gallon means over 4 gallons of Poultice is needed. A .75 pound container is one pint at best, 1/8 of a gallon. To claim this could cover as much as 75 square feet is even more ridiculous. However, the stuff really does remove cooking oil and hand stains from granite. So I will be buying more but someone needs to recalculate the coverage claims.

Easy to mix and apply. Reduced stains but did not eliminate complete. E ought to treat inly a couple square feet. Liked that the product does not seam to be toxic and cleans up easily.

How strongly do I feel about this product?? Strong enough to take pics on my phone, email them to myself, upload them and then put them with this review! I honestly thought we'd have to spend tons of money getting a tile guy to fix replace the tile. This is 11 years of grease behind our stove. The top of the range went right up to the grate, no big deal, right? Well, when the range dies and no range has that top part anymore, it's a problem. We know our new stove will only reach about the 3rd grout line from the bottom. So, I bought this product - not really believing it would work. The tile is marble, it's 11 years old, it's sealed, I was doubtful. But, for the price, even if we could get it a little bit better, that would be worth it. Super easy to use - mix it up to a paste, put it on, tape wax paper around it, poke a couple holes, wait. I even was patient enough to do a spot check! So, pic 1 - obviously the nasty grease (with a bit of the spot check on the very bottom). Pic 2 - first application, 24 hour wait, clean. Pic 3 - another application, 24 hours, scrape off, clean. Pic 4 - yay!!! last application, 24 hours, DONE!! Is it perfect? No, but did it make a GIANT difference???? YES!! Pic "4A" shows you more of the wall, and how it blends. And, you can see where other mosaic tile is slightly darker, so it does work. New stove comes on Sunday. I guarantee you once it's in, after a while, we won't even notice the slight discoloration. The fact that it worked at all is amazing to me. Truly. I suppose I could do one more application, but I don't feel like it. This product works. Saved me soooooo much money!!

Had A stain in my shower around the Basin. Didn't realize my cat was using it to urinate in. Stained Some of the Marble. Used exactly as directed. Don't see much of a difference. Will have to re apply. A bit of a pain once it dries to remove from the Grout! I have Black Grout. By A Grout pen when your finished.

I thought I'd ruined my beautiful marble backsplash after doing an oven self cleaning. I have tried every home remedy I could scavege off the internet and some helped, but didn't do very much....this has been stained for several months as I've worked and worried over it. Then I bought this magical remedy-even though none of the reviews seemed to address a vertical marble stain. I made a paste (a little thicker than pancake batter) and spred it on with a wooden popsicle stick, then covered with ventilated wax paper and secured with masking tape. I ran the hood vent fan for several hours then when it seemed hard and dry ~18hrs later I took the wax paper off for another ~8 hrs. I had to chip it off with a small scraper because it was more like ugly yellowed drywall mud, then I cleaned the last bits off with a wet rag. I really had resigned myself to the belief that my smoke/grease stain was here to stay. I can't tell you how happy I am to have my beautiful original marble and grout color back again. If you are resigned to accepting these types of stains on your backsplash, you really need to give this a try. Pictures aren't perfect, because my backsplash looks amazing again. I'll never let myself run out of this stuff!

The two photos are before and after I applied the poultice for a full 48 hours. The paste was 0.25" thick throughout and covered with plastic to avoid dehydration. There really was no discernible difference between before and after. The grease stains are pretty intense (renters not caring for or cleaning the granite for a year) but I was at least hoping for some improvement around the edges to encourage me to purchase more and persist. I won't be buying any more of this product for obvious reasons. In addition, the packaging claims you can cover 25 sqft with one pot (depending on dilution). If you follow the instructions and apply 0.25" coverage, you won't get more than 2 sqft, so I call foul on the 25 sqft claim. Bottom line is this product does not "remove stubborn stains" as claimed in the description.
