Organic Double Dark Chocolate Maté, Naturally Caffeinated Yerba Maté, Steeps 36 Cups

The best chocolate tea that I've ever tasted; I'm a chocoholic but battling pre-diabetes, so I abstain from sugar during the week, and I also love that it's organic, low caffeine, and low calorie. (It was my first time trying Yerba Mate). It tastes just like a dark chocolate bar and I love it with a splash of cream or milk.. what a nice substitute for hot cocoa. I have been recommending this to friends and family. I'll be buying it for years to come!

I usually only get loose leaf teas for my daily cup of hot tea, but I was intrigued by this “chocolate” tea and couldn’t resist ordering it. I’m really glad I did! It is easy to use, enclosed in its own little packet. The package says to add to 6 oz. of water, but I’ve been using about 10 oz., and steeping for ~7 minutes. I add honey and cream after that. (I even tried adding some marshmallow crème a few times.) I typically have it in the evening after supper as my “dessert,” and greatly enjoy it. It’s not exactly like hot chocolate, but it’s satisfying enough for my sweet tooth. I will definitely order this again when I finish this can.

I absolutely love this tea! I have been drinking it for the last two years and never tire of it. I love yerba mate tea because of the caffeine content it gives without the crashes I get from other beverages. Republic of Tea has done such a great job with the chocolate overtones of this tea. I don’t feel like I have to add sugar because of the roasted chocolate flavor it has, although adding creamer is also delicious. I would say the chocolate flavor is more dominate than that of the Yerba Mate. On days I want an even chocolatier flavor I double bag that double dark chocolate goodness! I have been truly impressed by the teas I have had through Republic of Tea. I feel like it is worth the slightly higher price. I only wish they were more readily available.

If you are a tea drinker and love the caffeine vibe of mate and love chocolate too, this is a lovely tea. The chocolate takes the grassiness away from the mate and adds a nice perk without the sugar of hot coco. It is nice to have something a little different than standard black tea. It is my go to morning ritual.

I was looking for a chocolate substitute without the sugar/calories and this fits the bill! It not as rich as hot chocolate obviously, but gives me my chocolate fix. I use the tea bag twice per morning and the second cup is as good as the first. Can takes up a very small amount of space. Just note that there are no strings on the bags. I don't mind - I just leave in my tea cup and never feel like it gets too strong.

This is my husband's favorite tea. The chocolate flavor is mild but so tasty and amazing with a splash of milk. Will continue to buy it for him.

This is one of my favorite teas. It’s not a daily tea, but when I do make a cup, it’s very special. All the doubles I’ve had have been fantastic, and frankly, all have turned into my favorites. Especially the double milk oolong! Bring it back! Bring it back!
