Amazing Quality for an Amazing Price!
I read the reviews and decided to give these a shot. I wanted the Bose but the price was hard to swallow. Especially considering the flimsy build of the Bose. For $300-$400 Bose could at least build something that feels like it will last a few years. The reviews of these were pretty thorough and positive. The consensus was sound quality superior to Bose fake bass boost, construction superior, noise canceling not as good as Bose but works. I opened the box and the case was very nice, very solid. The phones have a removable wire which allows the user to easily replace the part that is most likely to break. Bose makes these fragile wires that can't be soldered so we have to send them in for a charge repair. I don't appreciate that from Bose. They come with multiple cables including one that works with my iPhone. The construction was indeed durable. I put in batteries and tried them out. I was astonished! If they aren't as good as the Bose, they are 90%. Sound quality was clean and natural. Bass handled well. For the price...these are an unbelievable deal! My negatives are few. First, I am a big guy with a really big head and big ears. I expand these to their largest size and they are still slightly small on my giant 7 3/4 sized head. They work for me but I wish they had one more click. The other negative to me is that the pads around the ears are a little small for my big ears. The Bose has a slightly larger circle and fit me a little better. If these two were a little bigger I could wear those all day. As it is I can go a couple hours but my ears start to hurt. If you're an average sized person they should be fine. All in all...these are one heck of a value.

Pretty satisfied with my purchase. I did a lot of research on headphones and didn't want to go the Bose or Beats-by-Dre route. PROS: - Excellent sound quality - Noise cancelling function (can be used with or without music) - Sturdy storage case - Comfort level (I use these 5 days a week for 4+ hours/day) - In-line remote and microphone (I have an iphone and can pause, play, ffw, rew, skip music) CONS: - BIGGEST CON: The in-line remote and microphone does NOT have a volume adjustment function. BOOOOOOOO!!!!! - Initially, I experienced a lot of static while listening to music. Tried to pinpoint the source (unsuccessfully) and thought it might be due to (a) the headphone wire touching itself when there was excess slack in the line (b) Cellular signal interference NOTE: I only experience the static when I have the noise cancelling function turned on. I discovered that if you turn it off, then back on, it "usually" fixes the problem. - Can't use a rechargeable AAA battery in the headphones Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase and would consider buying them again.

READ IF YOU HAVE IPHONE 5 OR NEWER
So, first and foremost, if you are connecting these to an iPhone 5 or newer which is running on 4G or LTE networks, these headphones will produce a loud crackling noise that makes them unusable. It may also have problems with other cell phones using the faster networks but I can not confirm. I did contact Audio Technica about this and they indicated that this is a design issue in all their current line of noise cancelling headphones when used on iPhones. Thus, if you are in the market for noise cancelling headphones and will be using it with your iPhone or other cell phones using a high speed cellular network, I would suggest staying away from AT. However, if you are using these on a plane or not connected to a cell phone when it is on a 4G/LTE network, these are pretty good bang for the buck. I bought these before a trip I just returned from to Asia where I had two 13 hour flights and one 5 hour flight and used these the majority of the time. They do a pretty good job of noise cancelling, sound decent and are fairly comfortable. Now, when I was in China, I picked up a pair of Bose QC15 for cheap (appear to be real!) and I compared the Bose and AT on the flight home and here are my thoughts on my comparison. Bose has the edge in all areas. The Bose are much more comfortable for longer durations, slightly better in noise cancelling and better in sound quality. Also, I don't have a big head and for the AT's, I have them adjusted as far as they go and it is just about right. Thus, if you have a big head, these will probably not fit. Feel free to post comments/questions and I will respond.

Great Value, great product
Replacing old Bose QC headphones. Wanted noise cancelling + wired. Great sound experience and the noice cancelling was perfect for my home office environment (dogs, fan, printer, noise from a gravel driveway). I have not flown with them yet but based on these first impressions, my expectations are high that they will work well. Note: They come with a triple A battery for the noise cancelling. I did not see that mentioned in the product literature I reviewed so wondered how they were powered. I do know I did not need yet another USB charger with some proprietary cable :). Overall, very pleased with everything from the package, included connectors/wires and of course the overall price/performance.
