Pioneer DJ PRO DDJ200 SMART CONTROLLER

Excellent for starters… you don’t need more unless your going pro

I think i received a defective unit. All is well except for the right wheel, sometimes it does not respond on my scratch. I returned it after 2days.

its good for the price. the transition fx doesn't work with any other software then the DJ software thats on mobile so you wont be able to get that effect on laptop connected. also the tempo slider have this weird lock that even if its not on sync it doesnt work properly or maybe i have to play around a little more to know how exaclty it triggers. there is no mapping of serato so they want you to work with rekordbox which is bummer since i had complied a great collection on serato over the time and i had to do everything on rekordbox from the scratch.

This controller was everything I wanted as a entry level controller. Pioneer have produced a easy to use product that can be set up with ease straight out of the box. Works well with Tidal via the software DJ Pro and you can split link headphones and a 3.5mm audio line in to a speaker (Bose SP1 Pro works well). I didn't use the WeDj app that you can download to use with this controller as I plugged the USB provided into my Dell laptop and ran the DJ Pro software which was easy to setup the controller via the settings menu. Great piece of equipment that had me spinning tunes in no time. If your looking for something to get started without breaking the bank then this is for you.

I love my Ddj 200. Sure, it doesnt have all the feature that a standard controller has, but thats what makes it so great for beginners. Coming in at $250 canadian after taxes, its a great controller to learn how to transition, beat match, learn concepts like the camelot wheel, and learn how to cleanly mix on the most basic level, without all of the bells and whistles. I did my research before buying and was not dissapointed, so ill clarify what you're getting: - 2 channels - 2 channel EQs - a crossfader - 2 channel gains - 2 channel hi/lo-pass knobs - 2 beat sync buttons - 2 tempo shifters. Its the simplicity of what this controller doesn't give you that makes it so good for learning how to dj. Instead of being confused trying to learn all of these unnecessary effects (unnecessary for beginners), you're forced to gain a true understanding of all the critical tools that you are given. I recommend mixing from a computer with rekordbox, rather than mobile. I haven't used the mobile mixing feature so this review doesnt consider it. And lastly, it fits in a my backpack with so much room to spare. Making it the most portable controller ive personally ever seen. Even when ive moved on to a more advanced controller, with more features, the ddj-200 will always have a use as a great controller to play small parties. My friends, who have more complex mixers, love using it. If you're a beginner dj whose looking for an simple, non overwhelming, fun little first controller to play around with, this is the mixer for you.
