Will this work with QC2 headphones?

they do work with qc2 headphones, i have them and this adapter, it works well, HOWEVER, the microphone is facing backwards. my wife is 6' away from me at her desk and it picks her up as much as it picks me up.

Can I turn off the beeping noises that play every time I press play and use the volume buttons?
