Inspiring live performances and commentary by U2
This Blu-ray is filled with passionate performances and good rock from superstars U2. Most of it is filmed in black and white for special effects, but it is none the less interesting and moving. It goes back to the 80's right after the Joshua Tree CD and gives a glimpse of what U2 was about back then. Bono provides a moving explanation of what Sunday Bloody Sunday is about that you may not find elsewhere if you are a U2 fan. There is a strong deep bass track through the performances which sounds good on my subwoofer. At a couple of points I could hear the bass amp speakers go into distortion close to blowing a speaker and also some bass feedback distortion like Jimi Hendrix, although I think this was unintentional for the song and accidentally made its way into a highly revealing master audio soundtrack. Since it has dialog interspersed with the music, I don't listen to it as much as if it were a pure live performance, but it is a good insight to U2 as a band and as individuals and it is worth it for that.

The best U2 movie of her best era
This is the single movie I watch most in my life. I have the honor, as a 12 year kid, to watch in the theater. I've never heard of the band at that time but the poster said the "greatest band in the world" and, as the comedy we went to watch had no more ticket, we risked to watch Rattle & Hum. It was a defining moment in my life. I instantaneously fell in love by Bono vigorous performance in the opening “Helter Skelter” and was in awe when the film suddenly turned in full color with that red panel lighting up. Well that’s many memorable moments to count but rest assure some of the performances surpass the ones in disc (I could mention “Running To Stand Still” and “Sunday Bloody Sunday” as two of those). The voice of Bono is at its best, Edge and the other are as good as ever and all is in full high def blu-ray glory (even though the director sometimes uses a granulated kind o film to shoot, mainly in the interviews parts. It’s the best U2 performances of his best album/tour. I would recommend this for anyone, even those not familiar with U2’s work.

When they were the best..
The U2: Rattle and Hum DVD is a great time machine back to the '80s when U2 had it all. The documentary/stage performance combo gives a great insight into what made them such a great band and fueled their present mark on the music industry. Now they are much older men, their music is still off the edge.. but in 1986, the charisma came across on that stage. Bono gave everything then.. and now he seems so much more reserved. I liked the Bono of Rattle and Hum. He has evolved, but his earlier performances were true charisma.I know that at this time we can not time travel, but this DVD is the next best thing to it. Pop it in the DVD player or instantly download it, set some pure uninterrupted viewing time aside and hit the play button. The trip is well worth the time.

Love this Group! Love this Movie!
Despite what everyone says, this move is just fine! The picture quality is the same (or better) as the original motion picture release (back before HD, 1080P, and 4K). The sound is AWESOME! This movie holds a special memory for me, as I was THERE for the concert at Sun Devil Stadium, Tempe Arizona! I was all the way back, and to the left, of the mixing booth.. but man! What a night! Awesome concert!

Great movie
I hadn’t seen this since watching it at the theater when it was released. Brought back great memories of past days and is still as enjoyable as it was originally.

i rented this, but now i will be buying it...
i love good quality audio, I have a Sunfire HRS 5.1 with 12" sub, and i have to say that the audio on this bluray is the most pristine and well mixed and transferred tracks that I've ever heard on a live blu-ray. I'm buying it to show off my audio system. Its one of the new blurays with audio that makes it feel "real" and jump out of the speakers. The video quality is not bad at all, remember it was transferred from old film, so for what it is, the video quality is very good!!! ...there is nothing to complain about with this disc.

Rattle and Hum
This is a great film for any U2 fan. It is like having a front row seat to the Joushua Tree tour, and getting to hang out with the band as they travel. The passion and excitement that Bono puts into his singing is infectious. I especially love getting a closer look at The Edge, Larry Mullens Jr and Adam Clayton. If you love U2, you should buy this movie.
