No, that unit either came with a standing pilot, and requires no battery back up, or it was a 24v electronic system which has a pilot much more like a home gas furnace 3v will not be enough, must have a 110v to 24v transformer.

ND3630 is a standing pilot model, and would not need this. If your unit was a ND3630i (intermittent pilot), and then yes this is the tray.
