10mm Training Mat

I usually work out just on carpet with (I thought) no problems, but I was travelling to another house for Christmas and decided I needed a mat as my hosts own a dog (enough said about their carpets). This arrived beautifully packaged and screamed quality item as soon as I saw it. But I was still feeling a bit guilty and gym-bunny-ish even owning a mat. However, I used it day one and saw some significant improvements to my training. The mat is thick and spongy so absorbs impact wonderfully. I felt no stress on my ankles or knees or hips for a change. Most noticeably, I felt the difference doing planks. I've been following a core challenge and on the day I first used this mat I went from 4 mins to 5 and two days later I've just held for 7 and this is directly due to the non-slip quality of this mat. I don't have good toes (broke and had my big toe fixed with a pin) so now when I do press ups or planks my toes sink into the mat a little and are cushioned and protected enabling me to work better. The mat is very easy to roll up and the strap is well made and easy to use. When the mat unrolls there's no residual memory of being rolled up and it flattens to the floor beautifully. I can't rate this mat too highly and wish I'd bought one earlier.

I bought this just to put down when I do pre/post-run stretches and for some yoga/core strength work outs. The material feels very good quality and should last well and it is nice and thick without being too bulky. The mat is reverisible; one side is smooth and the other has some ridging on it and I presume having this side to the floor would give you more grip on a smooth floor, but I only use mine on carpet so it makes no difference to me. It is very comfortable without sinking underneath you and it allows you to slide your legs and knees about to change positions without jarring them from catching, but also give you enough grip to hold stretches and not have to fight to hold the position because your feet or hands are slipping. The carrying strap is very good but I won't use it very often, but if you need to carry it from place to place, the supplied strap will be fine. All in all, an excellent product at a good price.

I've been doing the Insanity programme and so needed something that wasn't too expensive that prevented all the sweat from dripping onto the floor! This mat is good in the sense it is soft, can easily be rolled up and transported, and especially for stretches is the perfect size! I gave it 4* because when I lie the mat down, the end slightly curls up and can get quite annoying! Also, the mat doesn't 'stick' to the ground as much as a I like - the nature of my exercises means that the mat moves underneath me due to my feet movement. Furthermore, this mat is not the right size for doing insanity. It is too long and narrow to do all the exercises properly, and I have found myself having to think about my positioning on the mat alot to ensure I make use of the space as much as possible. However, I did not retract any extra stars for this review from this complaint, because this is not the fault of the product! Overall, a good sturdy mat great for stretching and small movements. However, you'll want something bigger if you are doing a more demanding, movement intense workout!

Excellent, thick matting, just the job for yoga etx

We're talking about a mat here. But whoever designed this thing at Adidas knows something about people and how you feel when you exercise. And I say that as someone who is not an athlete, nor a yoga expert, nor even close to the imminent physical god of my dreams. Bluntly, this mat is perfect. It manages to be simultaneously warm and soft enough to sleep on, and firm enough to leave it to you to do the work. The only comparison I can make is to a Japanese tatami mat, which somehow manages to be both soft and firm at the same time. And - here is the kicker - it is equally calming. I have no idea how they made that out of synthetic materials, but the sensation of even just walking barefoot on this Adidas mat is remarkably similar to the sensation of relaxed energy you get when you walk - or lie - on tatami. If you're even only gingerly approaching the idea of putting your body to work, I have to say there's something instantly tranquil about the feel of this thing. And if you think I'm being completely pretentious in saying it kind of radiates optimism of the kind you need to go back to those exercises in the morning, then I suggest you try it.

This is the best mat I’ve ever used. I was using a yoga mat for home workouts previously but the movements was making it rip and the pieces went everywhere. This mat is so durable so far and has had no ripping despite lots of movements like burpees etc. It’s very thick and supportive for my wrists and feet. I love it so much. The only issue is that it is marketed as a “men’s” mat when it’s literally a mat... I am a woman and I love it!

What a great quality Pilate mat. Good length with decent grip and very comfortable. I've bought a few mats in the past few years and non have been really great apart from this one. Great value for money considering the quality. I like it so much that I've ordered another mat for my partner.....

Ho provato tappetini nella mia vita, ma mai come questo. Immagino che l’adidas non voglia accostare la sua immagine ad un prodotto scadente. È di una comodità e morbidezza che nella mia esperienza non hanno precedenti. Usarlo è davvero un piacere. Lo spessore è di un centimetro, ma il materiale soffice lo fa percepire come più spesso. Nonostante il tappeto passi la gran parte della sua vita essendo arrotolato, tutte le Volte che viene srotolato rimane perfettamente stabile ( forse merito del bordo rifinito in tessuto). Cosa intendo? Voglio dire che non si muove di 1 mm. Nonostante le varie sollecitazioni alle quali un prodotto come questo viene sottoposto durante l’allenamento ( spinte, salti ecc) il tappeto rimane saldo sul posto, dandoti sicurezza e serenità. È anche abbastanza semplice da pulire e quando sotto la frizione del panno, non perde colore o si sbrindella (come invece fanno altri oggetti simili). Piacevole aggiunta la chiusura di corda che permette anche il facile trasporto (forse poteva essere più lunga come si può vedere dalla foto) Dalle foto si può vedere in tutta la sua lunghezza effettiva (circa 183 cm). Dico così poiché il tappeto rimane realmente srotolato e non si arriccia. Avrei preferito 10 cm in più di larghezza per poterci poggiare le mani durante i piegamenti.

It is now 10 months old. I like it very much. I think it is one of the best purchase made online. Extra soft, steady and durable.
