Review: Very satisfied with the book Review: This is a great book for anyone interested in hydroponics - beginners to advanced. It's an especially good book for those looking to build their own systems and grow their own food. The book provides step by step building instructions for several different types of hydroponic systems. Along with the instructions are plenty of helpful pictures. It also covers the basics of the nutrients you can use for such systems as well as relevant crop information. I've been a hydroponics enthusiast and small scale hydroponics gardener for the past decade or so and have read many books on the topic. To me, this book is a must have and arguably the best of it's kind - design, build, grow! I bought this book last winter and experimented with some systems right away. Got to enjoy fresh veggies all summer and most of the fall. I had great success with tomatoes, basil, kale, green peppers, and mint!

I have been playing around with two types of hydroponics but I wanted to know about other types of systems as I advance in my knowledge of my new hobby. So far I have been to a wgreat number of websites and received fragmented and repetitieve information. This was a comprehensive introductory source. The writer is authoritative in his knowledge but he makes everything very simple and clear, and he uses a lot of photos to great advantage. It's a fast, easy read yet loaded with information. The book not only helps you to design and build a system but also helps you decide upon which type of system will best meet your particular needs. It also provides information about which specific varieties of plants do best in these systems. I hesitated buying this book because it seemed expensive for a softback, but the money I will save in not making mistakes and by being able to create my own systems for very little money makes it well worth the price. Very highly recommended!
