As a wifi system it works fine - fast and good coverage and easy to set up. As a smart speaker it really is a waste of time and money. It has no bluetooth or airplay so you can't play anything direct from your devices. In effect the only way it works as a speaker is through Alexa but its Alexa software isn't as functional as Echo devices so some of the skills (including the one allowing you to access BBC radio content) do not work and although you can now stream Apple Music on Echo devices without any problem, you can't do it on an Orbi Voice. This is pretty basic functionality and you would expect from the price that it would manage it. Support seems totally unaware of this issue and nobody at Netgear seem to acknowledge that it is an issue.

I can’t believe I waited so long before buying this. Yes, it is expensive, but given the amount of time, effort (and money) I have spent on other solutions (power lines etc), this is well worth it. Almost full speed WiFi (~200mb) throughout my large 4 bed house. Highly recommend, plus we now have a decent speaker for the bedroom!

This piece of kit is not fit for purpose. It drops internet connection for no apparent reason and then you have so go fiddle with setting to get it back up. And then if you can get the internet signal back it drops it soon after. Do not buy.

Signal improvement just as you would hope. Setup was easy but the units do take a long time to boot if you switch them off. Sometimes the satellite doesn't come back up properly (orbi app sees it on the network map but errors if you try to go in to get details) restarting the satellite sorts it out though.
