The Dark Forest (Remembrance of Earth's Past, 2)

Very disappointing. Payed extra money for a hardcover copy to make sure that it would survive the testament of time and the first time I open the book pages are falling out and unattaching from the seam. So unfortunate.

Little other view on science fiction. Something I'd recommend

Dopo aver letto Il problema dei tre corpi, non vedevo l’ora di immergermi nel secondo capitolo della trilogia, e The Dark Forest non ha deluso le aspettative — anzi, le ha superate. Cixin Liu porta la narrazione a un nuovo livello, esplorando tematiche straordinarie come la psicologia collettiva, la strategia a lungo termine dell’umanità e l’inevitabile confronto con civiltà extraterrestri. Il concetto della "foresta oscura" è potente, originale e inquietante: una metafora perfetta per l’universo come luogo di pericolo e diffidenza assoluta. Il romanzo è più filosofico e riflessivo rispetto al primo, ma non mancano colpi di scena, momenti di pura tensione e idee brillanti. I personaggi sono ben costruiti e profondi. Lo stile di scrittura è sempre preciso e denso di contenuto. Richiede attenzione, ma viene ripagata con una visione affascinante e spiazzante della civiltà, del tempo e del cosmo.

This is the second book of two, that completes the complete story. The first book, "The Three-Body Problem" must be read first. But it is an engaging tale, don't be afraid of starting! For me, I did have some difficulty keeping track of some characters because of the Chinese names - it's just something I am not familiar with, and it took me a little time to get it all straight. But that's just me. Reading presented a problem for me in early life. This is one story that moves in different directions than other works by different authors. There are totally unique ideas and thoughts in here, and it is most defiantly worth the read! Yes, I have watched the Netflix series, but like Harry Potter, there is nothing like reading the books.

Love audiobooks but wanted a decent read for a beach holiday. Great price and quick postage. Recommended

I was excited after watching the 3 Body Problem over Netflix, so I brought this book to continue my quest to know what happens next. All the 3 books in the series were 400-500 pages in length, I am in the midst of knowing what's the strategies of the wallfacers, have not complete the book yet. The names used were different from those in Netflix, so I need to ponder frequently. Overall, a great book that kept me on my toes for weeks!
