I bought several sets of Elixir Nanoweb strings for a baritone guitar that has a 28inch scale, typically tuned to either B or A standard. In comparison to stainless or nickel uncoated strings, the Elixirs slip sideways when my finger placement isn’t as precisely positioned behind the fret, such as when playing further out on the fret board where I have to angle my hand/fingers slightly to maintain precise finger placement with a straight wrist. Of course, this makes it easy to bend the strings whenever intentionally trying to do so, which was a plus. They also sounded good throughout their time on the guitar. I ended up going back to uncoated, stainless strings because I prefer a more “grippy” texture that feels precise and responsive, because I like the sensation of being connected to the guitar. I haven’t tried Elixirs on a guitar with regular scale length or thinner gauge strings, but I plan to soon. I think I will like playing them when there can be a little more tension on the strings. I still recommend Elixir strings. In the future, I will try a thinner gauge set on guitars with standard scale lengths and tuning. My “critiques” above are biased by my own quirks about string feel on a baritone scale rather than any concerns with the quality or sound of the strings. They were quality strings that sounded good and lasted a long time.

My go-to strings for Standard, Eb and Drop D. I will never go back to non coated. Wish they weren't so hard to get hold of.

Tensione perfetta, durata e intonazione miracolose. Fine della ricerca disperata!
