I use this to combat acid reflux. I wash it down with apple cider vinegar and it allowed me to discontinue with Prilosec. I could not be happier.

I liked that these were a lower dose than a lot of other brands of Betain HCL but I did notice that pepsin in it caused some digestive discomfort. The tablets were easy to swallow and like a said a low enough dose that was easy to adjust if you were eating a bigger or smaller meal. If you are sensitive to pepsin though like I am it can exasperate your symptoms. I do t think it’s a brand issue just a personal ingredient sensitivity.

You can take a pill either before or after you food; try both ways & see which one is the most effective. They are a small price to pay for better digestion!

The product arrived sealed and with an expiration date of 09/27, but the tablets are already humid, sticky, and starting to degrade. In this condition, they are not safe to take. I keep the bottle closed properly, yet once opened the tablets spoil very quickly. The effectiveness of Betaine HCl is good when the tablets are intact, but the poor stability and fast deterioration make it very disappointing. I expected a longer shelf life, especially since the product is not expired.
