How sturdy are arms that rest on toilet rim? My mother tends to push out when standing. Will they push off the rim? Is this rust resistant?

My mother pushes down on them with all her weight each time she stands. The arms are strong. They are stainless steel I believe, I’ve never seen rust on them.

when it says 23" i assume it means length from the screws of the toilet seat to the front. my seat is only 18inches..Adjustable?

not exactly sure what you are asking, but I assume it is about the LENGTH of the seat...front to back. An 18" seat is considered "round bowl"....a 21: length is considered an "elongated seat". Not adjustable. You have to buy the seat that fits the shape of YOUR toilet bowl. Hope that helps!

Will this toilet rail work on a very small toilet that measures 17 inches from the screws that hold the seat on to the front of the toilet bowl?

It should work on standard toilets. It is very easy to install.

Is the arm height adjustable? (Can someone 5'1" use it as easily as someone 6'2"?)

I bought this for my mother who is in assisted living. Height from the floor will depend on the height of the toilet. On a 13 inch high toilet the arms are 22 inches from the floor. They seem to be fine for a 5'2" person. The height is not adjustable.
