Absolutely brilliant
A must read for Christians and, especially, atheists and other faiths. The author was a huge sceptic during his research phase of this book so it is unbiased in its authenticity. It certainly highlighted all of the lies that I was told throughout my life about Christ and the Christian faith. I pray that it will open more eyes to the salvation offered through our Lord

A great read
Why would I an Atheist give 5 stars to a book that lays out the "Case for Christ"? I shall explain. The book continues all the way through really like a action thriller crime courtroom drama blockbuster: Observe a slightly modified example>>>>I straightened my chair and said with an edge to my voice,"Couldnt the diciples have made it all up?"He leaned forward and looked at me straight with not a waver in his eyes. "No. Thats impossible because we know they are all of good character.."I sat back in my chair blown away by his response,"Oh, OK then....Works for me!"<<<<<Strobel is a newshound and just as we beleive what is written in the papers, Strobel knows we can beleive what he writes in his book.Starting off with some personal background he tries to claim a base of personal credibility by saying he was once an atheist. Explaining his path to beleiving as having his wife nag him into it,he read some propaganda sucked it up and hey presto dreams are now reality.Stroble then proceeds around the nation (of America's bible belt) and looks up the most glassy eyed protestant evangelical christians he can find with a degree, with the purpose of interviewing them.He introduces each chapter with courtroom drama from cases he attended as a young hack, then applies this to the life of Jesus. So we have chapters like "THE EYEWITNESS TESTEMONY" and "THE FINGERPRINT EVIDENCE" (which turns out not to be Jesus's fingerprints on a magic bottle of wine but simply the christian beleif that Jesus fits vaguely into some earlier lines in the old testemant, in a half assed way when you try to stuff him in there). The scholar then pretty much breaks down in tears and talks about how no one loved him till he met Jesus. (Met jesus in the usual fuzzy hearing stories way-not a full blown mental breakdown like St Paul.)Thats the "fingerprint evidence". And the chances of it being wrong if you assign a random number to him riding a colt and ass then times it for bizzare reasons is trillions upon trillions to one. There you go rationalists. All the hard evidence you need!He muddles his scholars as well. Personally If I was going to Interveiw Willaim Lane Craig for this book, I would have him doing what he does best: setting out the apriori philisophical evidence that snow is hot and everything is nothing, that if a maximal goodness is neccessery then by definition it substantially must res cogitans / res extensa have Substance esse est percipi in the corpse of a handyman.Strobel has Craig here defending the empty tomb. Craig can do this no better than anyone else and has to resort to "Likelys" Its unlikely that the soldiers fell asleep, Its unlikely that the rock rolled away by itself etc. But naturally enough the obvious " umm but wasnt this just a bunch of zealots(or edomians)making stuff up.." dosnt get an airing. The logic is the tomb was empty, the jews agree the tomb was empty, people dont get up naturally when they are dead so Jesus got up and walked off magically with Yaweh operating the puppet strings. So Why would an atheist 5 Star this book.If your a Atheist already, It will cement your understanding of christian mindset and make you a "stronger atheist"If Your Agnostic or a Doubting Christian, you will be surprised that such a fanciful tale like christianity hangs on such feeble threads as Stroble PresentsIf your a Full Blown Fundy, This book might shake your beleif and get you thinking "there HAS to be something better than THIS!"

Best book i've ever read
I have grown in my faith for the past nine months and have drawn closer to God. But whenever a sceptic asked questions about my faith, I would ramble on about something I saw on TikTok or the internet with 0 research and all bias. After watching the film I realised how I had built my knowledge of Christ on the sand (see what I did there). and after reading this book written by a former atheist/sceptic. I can firmly say that Jesus really did live, die and resurrect from the dead 3 days later. Don't believe me? read this book and you will. God bless!

Recommended for anyone interested in Christianity
I think the best of this book are the interviews by leading scholars, historians and philosophers. The added journalistic experiences is a plus but this is not an journalistic book. Is something else, so don't expect it to be.Even though he tries to argue against it, I would of liked to see a bit more oposition against the case.I would recommend this book for anyone who is looking to Christianity as well as any Christian who wants to learn how much evidence there is for the case of Jesus's resurrection.4 stars for the job of putting all the evidence together And making it easy to read.

Turned me around!
My dad gave me this book to keep in my luggage 8 years ago as I set out for a far away land (England!). For 4 years that's where it remained. Then I started to have problems, and I needed help. Have you ever been in a situation where you finally realise, after having given your all, and used your most compelling arguments, personal skills, authority, reputation, humility, apologies, that no matter how hard you try, you can not make things better. Most would call it quitting. I didn't quit. But I did need help.I was brought up Catholic, so that's where I went for my answers. I went to Church, now and then, but had about a 10 year old's unerstanding of why. That's the kind of understanding most of us will take right through our lives. But like I said, I needed help. Out came the book. I won't say more, save the fact that I found my answers here. And I haven't looked back since. Highly recommended reading. As are Mr Strobel's other books, but I'd say start here. A bit of free advice for those who search, the pillars of my Faith are the Bible, and the Cathechism of the Catholic Church. Nothing shakes me now.

SJ Tanner
It must be remembered, whether or not one agrees with Lee Strobel's writing, that he wasn't a Christian when he began writing this book. He isn't biased towards Christianity; on the contrary he asks tough questions of the people he interviewed whilst researching this book.As an academic and a Christian, I was fascinated by the depth of his research and the answers he found. It is a well-written book, filled with evidence to back up his findings, along with discussions with highly-respected academics. It is certainly challenging, and aims for historical accuracy which is sadly lacking in so many recent novels claiming to secrets about the life of Christ, which are often nothing more than mere speculation or opinion. At least the Case for Christ has solid historical, academic and archaeological evidence, which many fiction novels ignore or distort. Many Christians will find their faith supported and strengthened by this book; other who are not yet decided may find it helpful, and others will inevitably dismiss it as rubbish. Personally, I found it a wonderful piece corroborating evidence for my own faith.
