Can I use this for my pug?

These are designed for the fine fur hair on a cat. I'm not sure it would work well on coarser dog fur. You might be better off looking at a deshedding tool made for dogs instead. You could even ask your groomer what is best to use for your dog. Whatever you get, don't overuse it to the point of causing a thin or bald spot.

Is this one really purple and the large model? Other entries from Furminator show the purple one as the small one.

I received the Purple one. It’s maybe...3 inches wide? It works on my large cat who has short hair but has an undercoat that is a problem in spring and summer. She sheds like crazy and gets ill from furballs. This worked great. Fast. She seemed to like it. I am not using it in the colder months but will take off that undercoat again in spring.
