I can get the back open, plastic soft. I tried coins and a big screwdriver. I sent it back and same thing with the second one. Any suggestions?

I just tried opening mine and it works fine. Make sure you're also applying some downward pressure as you turn the cover. I used a quarter. Good luck.

Will this work for my Bose, that has the slot for 2004 iPhone 4?

I'm confused. The iPhone 4 was released in 2010, not 2004. I bought this remote for ipods with a 30 pin connector, not a Lightning cable. It works perfectly.

I have two Bose Sound Docks which I picked up at local thrift store. The first one I got was a Series 1, which came with a remote. The second one is a series 2 Dock, and the remote I had didn't work with it, so I bought this one on Amazon, and it worked with the Series 2, but not the with series 1. Are you sure you have the Series 2 Sound Dock?

Replacement for an old Bose SoundDock remote worked perfectly out of the box. My SoundDock is vintage and requires an adapter to use on my iPhone 11. Overall it works well for my intended use. The remote can also be used for TV but that is my intention
