To be perfectly honest, these type of sharpeners are never going to give your knife that "perfect edge". It will give your knife a reasonable edge in a very short amount of time with little effort though, I use it to keep my packet knife sharp, and the occasional kitchen knife touched up - no complaints, was able to carve a turkey cleanly. At the price point, if it stops working, I'll simply buy another. Great little product.

Easy to use.

You get a lot of value and use out of this small and inexpensive package. So far, I’ve used it to sharpen fixed and folding blade EDC knives, some kitchen knives (yes, I know it’s set for 25 degrees per side, not 20 or less, but it made those knives sharper than they’ve been in a long time), sharpened an axe, some pruners, and even a couple of high quality replica medieval daggers. They all turned out so much better than they were. With more time and practice I have no doubt I could get them ever better. The pivot system works well for pieces that need more aggressive shaping; using the lockout slider is fine for most jobs. The axe sharpener worked great on an axe, but less well on a hatchet that needs more severe re-profiling. The diamond plate works well, though I don’t anticipate it will hold up to lot of hard use (which it won’t see anyway). The removable sharpener for pruners works well. I need to work with the scissors sharpener more before I can render a verdict there. Overall, it’s more than I expected for the price. I like it so much I got the smaller Pivot Plus also, which is pocket-sized.
