Fires at cone 10. Does not melt. I have not tested this holding heavier objects.

This Nichrome 80 20 gauge wire is a great value and works very well for ceramics. I use it in my studio for projects that are fired at low fire cone 05, and it has held up without any issues. The wire is easy to work with and strong enough for a variety of ceramic applications. It performs reliably in the kiln and maintains its integrity through firing. The kids at my studio love using it for their projects, and it has been durable enough to handle frequent use. Perfect wire for any large hotwire operation. No breakage or stretch problems so far and, we have cut over 100 feet of 2'X4' Styrofoam billets with no delays ... Will be ordering more very soon.
