Dockem Koala Wall Mount 2XL: Damage-Free Universal Dock for Laptops, Tablets and Smartphones with Thicker Cases (Black)

I used these to install my tablet on my wardrobe next to my bed, so I can use my tablet like a screen in bed.The installation was straightforward, comes with very clear instructions and many options for installing perfectly, including multiple spaces for a snug fit for multiple tablet thicknesses. I used the bundled 3M strips on the wardrobe, and they have had no issues.I have had the smaller mounts for use with my Samsung Tab A8 Jan '23, and have remained firstly attached since. I purchased these thicker versions for another Tab A8 in the house that has a thick foldable case more recently, and is an identical review for those, they have remained solidly in place with the 3M strips alone.

This product works well. I would not used the adhesive strips. The wall plugs supplied were for drywalls only so I had to use my own wall plugs (RAWL plugs for a 6mm Masonry Drill and 3.5mm to 5mm screws) for brick walls. I used the screws supplied.

I bought similar to these previously for tablets and smartphones and those were more sturdy. These ones I got with extra depth for a laptop but they really are flimsy, so much so that as I screwed in the screws I paid particular attention to not over-tightening for fear of breaking the plastic. I wont be risking my laptop security to these and will look for something more robust.

I'd been looking for something to get a couple of laptops up and off a desk, to clear useable space (MacBook Pro 14, HP ProBook G7).After a fair amount of time hunting for anything suitable I found the Koala Mounts, so decided to order a couple of sets and see how they went.Really, they're great! Fitted one pair to a wall with Fischer hollow mounts and the supplied screws, next to a monitor for the MacBook, with the larger short pair of pads. The MacBook has a shell attached and fits nice and snugly into the new wall home I've hung for it! Similar story with the HP laptop, but with the supplied screws, attached straight to the side of a shelving unit and with the largest pads to steady the laptop..The only gotcha on both laptops is that the location of the TB/USB ports that the docks connect to are low enough that they need to go in trackpad side down, but for both that's actually better for cooling in my case.Will be ordering another couple of sets soon, they're that good.

Works ok and the brackets seem to made of good quality plastic. However, take not if you have a slim laptop that tapers towards the front of the case, the spacers aren’t deep enough to hold it rock-steady. I couldn’t site the laptop the other way up either as the design of the brackets, the struts restrict access to the USB-C port, at least on my laptop.Fiddly to put up and get level. They recommend downloading a spirit level app (presumably for your mobile) but trust me a physical spirit level is best.

Nice and easy to use

These are really sturdy, and with the range of fitting shims they look like they would accommodate most modern laptops and tablets. I mounted mine on the solid side panel of a desk which I discovered wasn't actually solid when I drilled it. I got round this by using some drywall plugs and doubling up with attached adhesive strips. No sign of movement and they seem to stand up well to me occasionally needing to remove/replace the laptop for restarts etc.

Easy quick install super sturdy, worked out way better that expected.

Funcional

I thought my laptop was too thick for these, but I actually used the second thickest filler strips and it holds nice and snug. Ignore any feet on the laptop if measuring, they likely won't be near the brackets.Installs with command adhesive, so dead simple.I've had the laptop hanging in these for nearly a month (over a year as of Aug 2023, still as good as new), taking it out 1-2 times a day with no issues. I expect it'll last at least a couple of years like this.The bracket does block the power port (they cover 4-5cm at the base) but I don't want to leave it plugged in while in storage anyway, so no bother.It's so much better to have a designated easy access and out of the way home for the laptop. I no longer leave it on the nearest available flat surface or on the floor - packing it in and out of the travel case I was using was driving me nuts and I should've bought these 2 years ago and reclaimed my side table back then!
