I have bought this grass seed in the past. More than a dozen times. This time I bought three bags, two of the bags did not germinate.

I had good results with Scott's Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn Sun and Shade. Germinated around day 9. Once it did, I overseeded with other TTTF seed piggyback on the fertilizer. The negatives are the mixture separates quickly so shake it up before you use it and the mix doesn't contain enough seed in my opinion.

if you prep the soil by raking,and water it before it dries , it will work. seeding is a process that needs to be followed. if you just throw the seed and firget it, it is not going to work without a very wet spring
