Works exactly like it should for a 3rd of the price of the "pro" brands out there. No where does it claim to be a 1/2" thick shank. In fact none of the pro ones are 1/2" either. It's definitely made of steel and is not nickel plated and then painted silver as suggested. Its more than strong enough to hold any boompole/mic/blimp combo and I cant see any bending at all. Definitely worth the price of entry. I've had no issue mounting it in a c-stand. c-stands have multiple sized holes so not sure how someone could not use this and have it be effective.

My colleague has one, so I know it's sturdy. Unfortunately the one I brought snapped on 1st use, good thing someone was close by and able to catch the boom before the mic hit the ground. I did a return and got a new quicker than I got the 1st one. I think I just got a bootleg one at first. I'm sure I'll be fine now. Appreciate the quick turn around on this! I'm giving 5 stars for that. If it snaps again I will change the rating
