DHC Olive Virgin Oil, Unscented, 1 Fl Oz

The oil quality of the press is very delicate. It is good for any type of skin. It is gentle not thick. It helps the skin have a reasonable moisture barrier when used everyday. It is close to the pH of jojoba in feel and texture/absorption. It can be layered under a primer or with other serums. When doing so, give it a few minutes to absorb between applications. The packaging does not leak which is important. The expeller does not clog, either. The expeller excretes 1 application portion appropriately. This product is suitable for sensitive skin. It protects the skin barrier. Do not forget to apply SPF after this moisturizer.

I admit it - I was extremely nervous at the idea of leaving oil on my face as a moisturizer. I use the oil-cleansing method to remove make-up occasionally, so I understand the benefits to oil, but that always gets washed off. Not this. I like most of the DHC products I have tried, and I especially like simple, natural ingredients. I've learned that not all natural products work for me though - too many "natural" things in a facial product, and I can have an allergic reaction around my eyes. I'm in my mid-30s with combination skin, currently trying to get used to Retin A, so I go back and forth from oily break-outs to reptilian-dry. Thanks, hormones. THIS product is wonderful, either way. I only use it at night, because it's just a tad too oily for me in the daytime (but I'll use it in a pinch - especially on really dry days). It soaks in well by the time I go to bed. It doesn't take much either - 1-2 pumps, just press it in (no need to rub). Doesn't bother the sensitive skin around my eyes, melts away the dry patches, and get this - you put a spot of it on a breakout, and it helps HEAL it! Hard to believe, but that's the experience I am having. I read that pure virgin olive oil has anti-inflammatory properties - whatever it has, I like it! I wake up in the morning and think my face looks better. I have a feeling I'll be using this product for years and years to come. No scent, which is nice - I don't mind fragrance for some things, but a break from it now and then isn't bad. So...why don't dermatologists get this? Constantly telling me to use drying products has made my skin worse my whole life - we NEED some oil in our skin. I had to figure this out myself.

I’ve been using nighty since it arrived and I absolutely love this product. I use it as my very last step of skincare. It’s so light and moisturizing. I rub two pumps between my fingers and massage into my face and neck. It absorbs within maybe 15-20 minutes and my skin feels so so soft each morning.

I have been using DHC off and on for about 28 years. I love the natural olive oil products and the mild soap makes my skin feel really smooth. The extra virgin olive oil moisturizer makes my skin feel moisturized all day, and a little bit goes a long way! Just one pump from the EVOO Moisturizer rubbed together between the palms of your hands and then just pressing you palms gently onto various parts of your face and neck is all it takes. After looking at old family pictures, taken from the 1917, through the 1980’s, I noticed both of my grandmothers, my Great Aunts, Aunts and cousins, , many relatives , who were born in Sicily, had beautiful skin. I am 62, and I had forgotten my mother told me our family used olive oil to moisturize their face and body regularly. I was unfortunate to get acne when I was a teen, into my twenties, and after I gave birth to my son in 1992. The dermatologists during those years, advised their patients not to use any kind of oil on our face. My acne was not just a break out here and there, it was very upsetting to me, and I always used what My dermatologists recommended at that time. The Doctors would inject a solution when I would get cystic acne , when one cyst could take 3 months to go away on my face, and I am grateful to the Dermatologists in the 70’s 80’s and 90’s, who, when I called their office, would fit me in their schedule for an injection, during my one hour lunch break, on a new cyst on my face, that appeared that morning. It was so depressing and awful. I was told all my life I was a pretty girl, however I never thought I was. The acne destroyed my self esteem. One injection in one cyst from the dermatologist, would immediately make the cyst begin to go way within a day or two. Over time, I never had any scars from the injections. I also had acne surgery in the 70’s, where the Dermatologist would use a surgical tool, the size of a needle, to drain the acne. As a result of these treatments, I have no scaring at all. Today, You would never know I had horrible acne years ago. This year I started using Extra VIrgin olive oil soap in the shower and on my face. Yesterday, I ordered this DHC Olive Virgin Oil for my facial moisturizer, and I love it. My current dermatologist told me, most older people have dry skin. She told me my skin looked healthy and soft. I told her about the Olive Oil bar soap I have been using in the shower. Now, This EVOO, DHC moisturizer, is not at all too oily for me. I used this early this morning after I got it, after I cleansed my face with my olive oil bar soap , and I used one drop just now, after working out and cleansing my face with olive oil soap. I mixed my “Ordinary” brand moisturizer , mixed with one drop of the DHC EVOO moisturizer , just now on my face, and I absolutely love my soft skin. Thanks to great Dermatologists of the past , Olive oil bar soap, and now the DHC EVOO moisturizer, My sister just now told me I have beautiful skin. I am very pleased. I do suggest when you use this in the morning, to use just a very small drop, and you can mix it with your regular moisturizer, since someone may think the DHC is too Oily. A little goes a long way, and I do not think this is too oily for me. I love it.

I like to use this product in the colder months as it leaves my face feeling soft and moisturized. I find that it gives the face a nice "glow" though others have accused it of being too oily looking (kind of makes sense). I do not recommend for summertime use as it would probably melt right of the face.

LOVE LOVE LOVE DHC products. Have been using them for over 20 years. I actually look forward to washing my face at the end of the day and luxuriating in this serum. A must-have for me. Also highly recommend their Velvet Skin Coat primer and the Olive Cleansing Oil cleanser. Very easy on aging skin.
