DONT PRESS THE WHITE BUTTON ON THE BACK PANEL (see item 2 below)
The meter does work. I dinged the product 1 star for two reasons:1) The first one was not calibrated and was reporting 121 volts - actual was 1192) It does not come with documentation, Yes it only has two wires that connect to the line voltage, *HOWEVER* there is a white pushbutton on the rear panel. Once presse it will put your device into calibration mode, and the device is useless unless you know what to do next. Fortunately the vendor was able to provide the following instructions (which do work):QUOTE:Long press the key to enter the frequency fine-tuning mode, and then increase the frequency by 0.1 for each press, cycle for 20 words (equivalent to +/- 10 words, +/- 1HZ), and then press the key for long time to save when reach the target value.Long press button to save and into voltage fine-tuning mode, then every click, voltage up to add 0.1, loop 30 words (equivalent to +/- 15 words, +/- 15v)NOTE, the adjustment range is a circular process, without addition or subtraction; But each time there may be a different scope.

Accurate Easy To Read
After destroying my plasma cutter it was necessary to know the frequency & voltage of my portable generators.This meter instantly solved my problem. I tested it first on my oscilloscope and another known accurate meter and it was exact.Rather than modify my generators, I made a small mounting panel for it to attach to the frame. Then wired it directly to the back of one of the outlets.It's easy to read in bright sun and even looks good.Cheap insurance for valuable electronics and equipment. I wish I had the sense to buy & install this before I had a problem.Absolutely, I'd buy it again!

it works but is black instead of white.
I ordered a white one and got a black one.

A Voltage and Frequency Reference for your AC Generator
Works great, easy to hook up, self-powered (no batteries to go bad!), did exactly what I wanted!

Not supper accurate but does the job
Nice to have readout but it's not super accurate. Use a Multimeter for a good read.

Volt meter works perfectly.
The frequency meter is not as accurate for use with a generator and seems to be buffered in steps of +/- 5 to 10 hz depending on load applied. This is not uncommon with some generator heads. The frequency meter reads normally when used with incoming line power. The volt meter works great and was within 1 vac of line voltage and actual generator output.
