Great Model Paint Set
This Testors enamel paint set is excellent for model building and hobby projects. The color variety in this promotional set provides great value and covers most basic painting needs. The enamel formula provides smooth coverage with a professional finish. Each bottle has good consistency and the paint flows evenly without streaking. The colors are vibrant and true to what's shown on the bottles. Dries to a durable, glossy finish that resists chipping. Perfect for plastic models, miniatures, and craft projects. A reliable brand that hobbyists trust.

Hasn't Changed a Bit
These Testors enamel paints are the same ones I used to buy for a quarter a bottle back in the '70s. Except for the price, they are the same quality as they always were. Now that acrylic paints have largely replaced solvent based paints, it's harder than ever to find these. The value pack assortments are definitely the way to go. My only gripe is that they come with a tiny little bottle of thinner. You need to use this thinner for cleaning brushes, as ordinary mineral spirits won't cut it. I've never tried lacquer thinner, but that could be an affordable option. Regardless, these are the paints I prefer. The flat colors have the best flow, but do best with multiple coats. Gloss colors are thick and very shiny, drying to a hard enamel. Forget about airbrushing with these, this is old school crafting paint. If you want super detail and layered effects on Minifigures, consider acrylics. If you want to paint metal toy soldiers, these work great.

Good Stuff
I love these little bottles of enamel paint. They are great for painting other things beside plastic models. I use mine to touch up or paint 100+ year old cast iron toys, trivits and wooden signs. The uses are almost endless and being enamel, the paint is way more durable than acrylic paint.

Good oil based paint
Good paint though surprising how expensive they've become since the 70's when I was building models.

The standard for all model paints!
The only paint my son will use on his model. They were the only paints I would use when I was his age, too! Cleans up well, good variety of colors, easy to mix with other colors, works well on nearly all plastic models. Always remember to shake if too watery until the proper thickness of the paint is achieved. Worth the price because of the quality.

Testors Promotional Enamel Paint Set
It's been years since I painted model planes, but Testors is still the oil-based enamel paint to use. I bought this promotional set to paint small hockey game players. The paint is outstanding. Instead of using the enclosed solvent, I use my own paint solvent from the garage and pour some into a glass holder (like the ones used in restaurants to hold au jus or horseradish for your prime rib) The paint brushes on very nicely and smoothly, but because solvent evaporates very quickly from the paint brushes and on the model, try to paint your model just once and don't repeatedly go over the same area because you will lift the paint. Wait until the paint is dry before brushing it over. This is especially true if you want to cover up so boo boos. If you paint over another area before it is dry and set, the solvent in the fresh paint will lift the original paint off causing it to mix it in with your fresh paint, and voila, you just created a new paint color. If you make any painting mistakes, don't worry, solvent comes to the rescue. The paint will cover other colors usually in one stroke. Changed some color areas may require two separate coats. Be sure to stir up the paint with a toothpick before using. The gold and silver paints have to be stir frequently because the metallic flakes separates rather quickly. But once stirred, the metallic paint paints on evenly and looks very nice. I used only 1/3 or less of the paint in each bottle, so there are enough paint to paint several small model planes. Although I wore nitril gloves will painting, if you get paint of your fingers and hand, take a clean brush and dab it in some clean solvent (of dirty solvent) and brush it on your fingers and immediately wipe it off with a paper towel. This will also work easily on dried paint. Wash your hands with soap and water and you ready to go out dancing
