Bright white light
I changed the bulbs to these, as the ones fitted seemed a little bit yellow light. Fitted the bulbs and the improvements are good. Seems clearer view. My roads are rural Scottish single track and there's a noticeable brightness difference.

Best HB3 halogen upgrade you can buy
Bought for Kia Sportage, lights were very poor which is down to the projector lenses used by the manufacturer, tried most available bulbs on the market and found these to be the best. They are the brightest halogen bulb you can by in HB3 fitment. Better than standard bulbs and other high performance bulbs by Osram. Would have preferred a whiter bulb hence 4 stars but the trade off is worth it for the performance. Would highly recommend.

An honest un biased review
I have tried all types of halogen lamps in different cars as owned over the years. These particular phillips lamps are in HB3 (9005) mount in a projector lens. The oem lamps they replace are 3 years old and also phillips. I changed one lamp and drove at night for a direct comparison. They are slightly whiter “and I do mean slightly” compared to stock. Also a little brighter but again not much and remember the original is 3 years old. So in concluding. I think all this advertised hype about 150% and 200% brighter and further reach of 50 plus metres is just that !! Sales BS. They work yes. They are a slight improvement over oem yes. But expect no more than that. And that goes for Osram,GE, Bosch ect. OEM led headlights are far superior in my experience and of course being oem are road and mot legal. Not to be confused with aftermarket leds which unlike oem are brighter to look at and whiter than halogen but !! Can have beam pattern issues along with light reach, or throw not being as good. Also not legal. Sorry for the long post but I want to be honest and helpful to others. Im not a wishful thinker and wont try to kid myself or you. The super duper halogens out there are ok !! Thats it. An update on the above review. I have now completed a lux meter test on these lamps and wanted to share an interesting finding. Testing from 1 metre from the headlights I found these halogens provide a considerably higher lux level when compared to high end aftermarket leds that I have. The leds wont be used on public roads due to legality issues however for those who are tempted by retro fit leds please be aware !! The higher colour temp ie 6500k can give an artificial brighter look than halogen which look more yellow than white. But this is just the way our eyes perceive a whiter look ie whiter looks brighter. In fact the leds reflect off the road and there throw or range down that road is actually less than the halogens. So you dont see as much of the road with led but what you do see gives the appearance of brightness but with less road coverage. Hope that makes sense. Also led is far more reflective and tends to bounce back at you especially if its raining. Halogen tends to be absorbed and therefore less likely to dazzle you. I guess Ive been a bit ocd with getting behind the science of one vs the other but I think its safe to say halogens in headlights designed for halogen give better road coverage that the so called whiter than white leds. Which give less coverage but with an almost blinding whiteness. Hope this info is useful 👍

Did not fit my car
These bulbs did not fit my headlights despite picking the correct fitting (HB3). The stock bulbs in my car are also Philips. The tabs that locate/lock the bulbs in place were thicker than the ones that came with my car and did not fit correctly.
