This product works just fine. I was looking for inexpensive and read the reviews first, and decided to buy this item. Yes its a little larger than most, yes it likes to beep, but I was able to scan the barcode that came with it so it only beeps turning it on or off. I was also able to scan the barcode that makes it stay on longer (about 2.5 minutes). I'm quite happy with my purchase.

Update, after using this scanner for quite awhile, I am pleased with it I have upgraded it to 4 stars as the function and reliability has beengood with excellent battery life. nothing but problems

no good instruction for a person thats never had one befor. want stay on , hard to set up

It's an ok product. The first one I bought, same thing, just a different brand, you could turn off the beep and you can't on this one. Also, you can set the sleep time - (amount of time it takes for it to shut off when not in use) to 2 mins or not turn off at all. They need to come out with an option for 5 mins and an option to turn off the beep. Maybe its there already, don't know. Also, some products requires 2 scans to look something up. Overall, an ok device for $50, I bought two at this price. It's a $50 dollar product and works like a $50 dollar product.
