Beautifully made. Sturdy wooden board and pieces. Some of the felt on the bottom of the pieces had to be reaffixed, but no big problem, nothing to write home about. Magnets are strong, after all, we’re not playing outside during a hurricane. Perfectly sized board, light-weight enough to carry by the convenient handle that doesn’t interfere with the play of the game or damage your table top. The cushioned storage inside keeps the pieces from getting marred, like they would be if they were just thrown into a bag all willy-nilly instead of being nestled nicely in their own little beds. I would be a happy recipient if I received this as a gift - I would think it cost much more than it did! A great bargain!

It looks nice - the quality is reasonable. I wish the pieces were heavier and metal - but I am not taking stars for that. The handle is great - and it looks really nice set up. Magnet strength is medium - and feels like it's just there to compensate for the weight of the pieces. It's not really a travel piece - it's 15.5 inches so - but great for home.

Fantastic gift idea! Magnetic pieces hold up well and the quality is superb. Would definitely buy again and recommend to others… great Chess board for the price! 9 year old grandson really loved it and we’ve played more now that he has his own set.

This is a beautiful board, very well made, and the perfect set for my grandson who is just now expressing an interest in chess. I helped him play his first match against his cousin on Christmas Day on his aunt's crystal set and, after winning, was totally enthralled and picked it up very quickly. I can't wait until he unwraps this set for his birthday!

Nothing to complain about. Bought this to replace and retire the old folding board I had since I was a kid and I'm pleased with it. The handle is nice but more of a gimmick than anything but the craftsmanship is good. I like that the board has internal magnetic latches as opposed to external traditional latches.....that was partly what sold it for me, it's very streamline. Pretty good 👍
