This extraordinary collection of nine series on Blu-ray from David Attenborough, seven of which also play in 3D, represents the peak of wildlife filming, brought to you by the world's greatest natural historian. Kingdom of Plants sees Attenborough using the latest macro photography to reveal a wholly unseen world, from the most beautiful flower to the most bizarre. In G alapagos , he takes us on a remarkable journey to these enchanting Pacific islands. And his passion for the arthropod world takes hold in Micro Monsters as killer ants, predatory spiders and ferocious scorpions run wild. Natural History Museum Alive takes us on a ground-breaking journey through this famous London landmark as cutting-edge science and CGI combine to bring the museum's long-extinct inhabitants back to life. In Conquest of the Skies , he travels back in time to unravel the astonishing 300-million-year story of the evolution of flight. Narrated by Attenborough himself, The Penguin King tells the story of a heroic, young penguin in South Georgia, one of Earth's last, great wildernesses. In Rise of Animals , Attenborough explores the history of vertebrates in an eye watering journey that combines captivating CGI graphics with superb natural history footage. In the landmark series First Life , he completes his journey by going back in time to the very roots of the tree of life, in search of the very first animals. And in Flying Monsters , David sets out to uncover the truth about the enigmatic pterosaurs whose wingspans of up to 40 feet were equal to that of a modern day jet plane. (I worried that region might be an issue, but it works perfectly!) It’s all classic Attenborough: informative excellence, beautifully shot, and astoundingly insightful, presented in that lovely voice from the conscience of humanity. Two discs are 2D-only, and the rest are 3D (although one doesn’t mention that it’s 3D on the disc face). If you have the wherewithal to nab this, by all means do so. Stunning!
I love all things David Attenborough. This is a beautifully produced series - as they all are. It's good to put on when you need to be reminded of what's real in the world.

David the professor is in the house
Haven't gone through all of the discs, but so far, I'm disappointed in the quality of the 3-D which is one big factor in my choosing to invest in them, along with the promise of intelligent insights and great learning made possible by David Attenborough's unchallenged presentation of all things "Earth" and all beings and life forms pertaining thereto. He's a brilliant guy, and presents the episodes with a positive and uplifting respect and admiration for the inhabitants of our planet, always providing insights and understanding to the casual viewer who can appreciate the experience and insights of a polished mind like his own. The photography is highly laudable as it is in just about any presentation involving Attenborough in my opinion, and fully enjoyable to the mind of an interested and sensitive viewer. I sometimes find myself a bit unconvinced by his stratospheric deductions and statements that I am completely unfit to challenge the credibility of, which leaves me a little skeptical at times.....the leaps of judgment and supposition are often scaled into the heavens it seems, but whether you buy the goods he peddles entirely or only in certain parts doesn't lessen the appeal of the presentation to my mind. The 3-D experience was a bit strange.....I do so enjoy a good 3-D movie, but I could get these productions to satisfy my 3-D lust to any high degree. It just doesn't look competently done, with only certain small parts of the image appearing to be rendered in 3-D, leaving the balance of the image flat and most convincingly 2-D in appearance.

Region A Compatible
Just received this bad boy and all content works on my PS4 (region A) - including 2D behind-the-scenes, the two 2D standalone docs, and the new addition, Flying Monsters (3D + behind the scenes). There were region-locking issues on the last compilation, but they must have fixed them. I took the gamble so you don't have to :) This is a great deal at $99, especially considering Galapagos, Micro Monsters, and Kingdom of Plants are out of print.

Wonderful!
Sat and watched 1 a day with Grandkids, series held everyone's attention and they are still asking question, a HUGE PLUS! Love Attenborough's narrative.

Some of the disc are region coded
The 2D discs appear to be region coded. I know one had the B region code on the disc. 3Ds where OK.
