Super Fun and Super Replayable
If you love Marvel Superheroes or card games with Take-That and competitive games, get this. It's super fun and if you have a good set of freinds you can play this multiple times and always have it turn out differently. If you ever get lucky enough to get a good set of cards to "build" a super hero you know, like spider-man, then you're going to be super strong. It's so much fun because suddenly someone can play a cards that humbles you. The rules are super simple with every now and then some combination of cards or loosely written text that makes you question the rules or effects of the card but the bickering that comes with it is so fun in my opinion. You also get a really cool custom die.

The thematics of this game fit exceptionally well within the Marvel universe. One might expect that players assume the role of classic heroes such as Iron Man or Captain America, however the prose of this specific Munchkin game seems to focus on the players building up their own, unique heroes from some generic, predetermined classes, represented by oversized character cards. These dual-sided character cards, in addition to displaying the passive and active skills inherent to that card's role, also contain nifty level markings, which can be marked by the transparent markers included with the game. Classic heroes can be acquired as allies, and the player can also ally themselves with various factions that replace the classic class/race cards. The game also includes the unique addition of Powers cards, which are executed very smartly. Every Powers card is ranked from 1-4; players can equip as many powers as their level can hold. For example, a level one player can equip one level one power. A level two might equip one level two Powers card, or two level ones. Apart from that, the cards in this game seem to contain many more variables, which leads to more exciting, engaging playsessions. A very welcomed addition to the Munchkin franchise; I'll be waiting eagerly for this game's two expansions to release later this year - specifically the Guardians of the Galaxy expansion.

Amazing game, but can sometimes be too much
I've been a huge fan of Munchkin ever since my girlfriend bought it for me as a present. As a longtime gamer and relatively new tabletop RPG fan, Munchkin is a great mixture of old tropes put together into a fun and hilariously worded game. Marvel Munchkin is a cool step into its own direction, using Munchkin as a template but forging its own identity. Marvel Munchkin gives you as a base identity one of 12 different SHIELD agents (really 6, but one of each gender), all of whom have their own abilities during gameplay. If you've never played Munchkin then you should know that every card needs to be read (and sometimes disputed) because so many things can be modified and counter-modified depending on the card you use. Marvel Munchkin sometimes gets overwhelming and out of hand because you have to remind yourself of every modification you have. It sometimes seems like it would even be helpful to have a notepad or an app that helped you keep track of what bonuses and abilities you have at any given time. This can lead to confusion, especially if you have a lazy or oft-distracted player who either short changes themselves or doesn't police themselves, allowing for annoying moments when you need a type-A person to police everyone's decision. BUT, if you have a game of people fully in it and ready to play, this can be one of the best and most rewarding games ever, which is why I gave it a 4. I once played with three friends and we had a moment when one of us was seconds away from gaining level 10 and winning the game. The rest of us exhausted every option we thought we had and things were intense. Just before we gave up after five minutes of debating, I found one card on my person that put in one big flaw in that near-winning players foundation of powers and it unraveled everything he could do to win that round. Due to some other craziness, we still ended up losing to that one player, but just that ability to both work together or backstab each other at any moment leads to such wonderful moments of empowerment and mental fortitude that my friends and I have become addicted. If there's anything I'd change in the future, it would be to simplify some things, because even within the confines of the game's rules you could end up with 15 cards of modifications that you have to keep track of, and everyone else's. I almost feel like the Ally cards are too easy to obtain and I'd rather nods to the heroes powers' and weapons more than having their powers, weapons AND the characters themselves. But it really pushes your strategic and tactical mind while doing it in a Marvel universe. Also, I'm hurt as a lifelong X-Men fan that they are WOEFULLY under represented here, if at all, which is probably thanks to Marvel's cinematic universe, while characters like the Inhumans who have never been Marvel's biggest draw have much huger spotlights than normal. But that is my bias. An X-Men expansion pack can change that.

Munchkin Maddness
Great game, easy to learn after playing through a round. Once you know how the game works, the intensity heightens in both competition and fun. It’s an easy game to also show new people how to play, doesn’t take hours to teach. Keeps everyone entertained with the fun design of cards and gameplay. Definitely a worth while buy for any family game night, or just among friends.

Super(hero) fun!
This game is a ton of fun. It's a pretty typical Munchkin game that's re-skinned with Marvel characters, but it definitely has that Marvel charm to it. The most difficult thing is to explain the rules to someone new, as there's a lot to take in, but after a round or two it becomes simple. There are some really overpowered cards in the deck, so be prepared for some person to more than double their power at any given time. There are also a few cards that break the forth wall. For example, there's an Electro boss card that gives him extra power based on the amount of electronic devices on the game table...so, it could be fun to stash a bunch of extra ones before playing to make him really powerful. If you were evil, that is. I look forward to purchasing the add-ons for this one!

This is honestly amazing. Like everything the first time you play it, your going to be a little confused. However after 2 of 3 games you get in the swing of it and you truly do have a blast. It's great game to play with family, there are some add ons to get as well if you enjoy this but you don't need them to enjoy the game, however they do improve it.
