returned 5 minutes after receipt. the product is sold in Dubai where the current is 240V AC while on the product it is indicated that it works at 110V AC. This info does not appear anywhere in the specifications.

Product not work at first use. I bought this hot knife to cut foam boards.. in first use cutting after i cut one side it’s stopped, No heat, No power or even flashing.. i just cut one side, only one and not complete, why it’s not working.. i checked electricity source too. Kindly help & advise

Very simple and intuitive to use, just install the blade and you are good to go. This tool cuts through 2 inch thick rigid foam VERY quickly, most likely because it does get very hot immediately. Make sure you have a place to set it down between cuts because this thing is ready in seconds, since it does get so hot I would recommend that you use leather gloves because the potential to burn your digits is quite obvious once you pull the trigger on this device. I use gloves because I am old and fumbly. The reason I bought this device is because I need it to cut insulation panels to fit precisely on my RV motorhome, I am in southern British Columbia a couple of miles from the 49th parallel. I don't care what anybody says, when you live North of the 49th, you are gonna need some skirting and insulation up here in the Great White North and THIS IS the tool to get the job done. It allows you to quickly make nice clean cuts through rigid insulation panels quickly and, it does not look like a 2 year old did it when you are done. I personally have not had a problem with residue being left on the blade, although the tool comes with 2 blades and cleaning brush and instructions on how to use this specialty tool. It has already met and exceeded my expectations and it appears to me this item will last for many years to come.

Tried so many styrofoam cutter & they have all been useless. No quick heat, flimsy cutting wire. no on/off trigger. This one has it ALL. Changeable heating rods, trigger operation & fast heat. It's the absolute benchmark & probably good enough for work use. For home it's a winner!! Bonus - comes in a nice case with a stand plus its can hang. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. One that works!!

It worked as expected but not as well for what I needed it for. I thought it would work for cutting multiple pieces of 2” EPS boards. It cut great, no mess but too slow for me. I would recommend it!

I've been updating my reviews on products that I am still using and really like... this is definitely one of those! I make sure to use a brass wire brush (small one) to clean the blade after use, while the blade is still warm... stays clean and probably lasts longer that way. It definitely helps when cutting the next fabric, to have a clean blade. I did order a couple of spare blades, but so far I'm still on the original one, almost 2 years later. The storage case still works, although as some mentioned... those clasps aren't very high quality. Having said that... they work. Just a bit loosey-goose feeling to me. . I've been sewing boat canvas for the past few years, part-time. I needed my own hot cutter to replace a burned out soldering iron with a knife blade I was using. I've used other industrial hot cutters before also. This unit works great. I put my own markings on the wheel, easy peasy. I have worked Sunbrella and WeatherMAX 80 with this cutter, with no issues.
