Great versatile design
I bought the first one of these at Expo 67 in Canada while working there as a Boy Scout. It quickly became my go to fixed blade. It holds a keen edge. It has cooked meals, skinned all kinds of animals, made bows and arrows, started fires, and is still as good as new. So why did I buy another one you ask? At 70 yrs old, I have 2 grandsons........

I personally have had this knife for over 10 years and use it as my gutting/skinning and butchering knife. It holds an edge and is an excellent knife so I recently purchased another for my son who is about to begin his hunting "life". I am sure he will use it for many years unless he loses it like everything else I have purchased for him:) My brother also uses this same knife for deer hunting. Excellent knife. Worth every penny.

Beautiful knife! Awesome quality product that I couldn't bring myself to use! I ended up trading it to a co-worked for a Leatherman Wave and have been using the Wave as my EDC for work. I bought it as a camp knife, but couldn't bring myself to use it as such... Seeing how I couldn't just have it laying around I traded it.....

Best Hunt/Camp/Kitchen Knife
I absolutely love this knife!I was always intrigued by the concept so I bought the much less expensive Cold Steel version. As soon as I used it I fell in love. Bought several as stocking stuffers. After using the Cold Steel copy I had to pay homage to D.H. Russel/Grohmann. I bought a proper sheath from them for the Cold Steel.Since all the recipients also loved their Cold Steel Christmas presents and birthdays upcoming, I bought myself, my brother and son-in-law one each. All of us are ecstatic over our new CBK's!If you can't afford the original, you'll be well served with Cold Steel. Grohmann sheaths can be found for them.

What can I say, it's a classic!
It's my second #1, as I just had to have a backup. I'm a big fan of Grohmann knives. The #1 is a great field dressing/skinning knife for deer and other big game.

Decent knife
I had an original D. H. Russel Canadian knife. This is a nice knife, but not as good as the original.

Exactly the classic I was expecting
Great knife. Sharp upon arrival. This is my new fish and fowl cleaning knife.

I expected more...
This is a great design for processing game. As an amateur knife maker I was disappointed in the fit and finish of this knife. The knife was dull on arrival and the handle scales were rough in areas. Using a copper tube in place of brass for the lanyard hole is cut rate, especially since it doesn’t match the brass pins.
