Maui Babe Browning Lotion 8 Ounces

Okay, so as someone from Samoa and having worked in Hawaii as a dancer for several years, I ordered this knowing that it would do what it is supposed to do. That being said, there are several points on which I recommend it: The shipping was fast and on time (I have prime), and in my opinion, the product was a bit different than what you would buy in Maui, but the quality is no less than that. Application-- I read several reviews commenting on the fact that it explodes when you open it, the smell, and the consistency. To open it, I didn't have explosion but I would suggest making sure the bottle isn't crumpled before closing it and to open it facing your palm. The smell is like brown sugar at first, but when I got to my neck/shoulder/chest area it started to kind of smell like soy sauce, but that doesn't bother me, it went away after a little while in the sun, and it doesn't have any affect on effectiveness. I read in several reviews about how it's oily and makes you feel "icky". Well, you're using far too much if that is the case. A quarter size amount is enough for my whole leg and I'm quite tall. A little goes a long way. It's not brown, and it's like a tinted oil that you don't slather on. You put it on like lotion so it soaks into your skin, providing nutrients and facilitates tanning. Your skin should feel soft and moisturized afterward. I spent an hour on a towel and I am already a shade darker. I would NOT recommend it for like a pool or beach considering when I got into the shower an hour after tanning, the water instantly washed it away. I don't know about a tanning bed, but I would assume that if you don't slather it on trying to actually look brown with it on, it should be the same as any other tan lotion. All in all, I recommend this product and the seller. It definielty works.

By far the best tanning lotion I have ever used. I use it to tan in a tanning bed & then use the oil version to tan outside and after a month of tanning indoors and outdoors I am a natural golden bronze color. It looks amazing. It's definitely tinted and you need to wash your hands after. The smell is different but in a good way. I don't mind it at all, reminds me of a strong coffee or butter scotch smell. I buy this same bottle every 6 weeks, because I go through it so fast. They even taped the top shut do it wouldn't explode or leak if left in the Arkansas heat too long. I recommend this product so much I should be a paid spokesperson for how many times I've convinced people to buy it. I'm fair complected in the winter but with this lotion and bit of tanning I'm almost brown lol. It's a beautiful natural brown, not orange or fake looking like alot of tanning lotions do. The only complaint I have is it is a bit oily so you have to wipe a bit of it off after you tan. Will stain clothes so make sure you put something on dark after you wear it. About to purchase again because my bottle is almost empty and I can't live without it. Lol I've only been tanning a month and I'll probably only need to tan a couple more weeks to completely max out on tanning. This product is AMAZING. You should purchase the outdoor tanning oil version as well. Its just as good, will purchase a couple bottles for my beach vacation this summer, i have to buy a few because my family uses it all when we go to the beach lol

The package isn't fancy, and it won't smell like a coconut factory. What it WILL do is darken your skin and allow the sun's rays to do what they are SUPPOSED TO DO--give you a REAL TAN! Yes, it's oily in texture & it does smell like Kona coffee. It's heavy, and the lotion itself is brown (it has coffee extract in it, remember?)--so when it goes on, you'll want to wash your palms. It's NOT a stain or "self tanner", just a sun lotion. With those elements combined--your sun exposure had already be well-base-tanned----or you will fry, because there isn't a sunscreen in there. Got a base tan? Good. Ready for a day of true tanning? Good. Get ready for Maui Babe, because you're going to come in after this one with a TAN! I love it and after reading other reviews, like others, this is my main tanning preference for REAL sun exposure. Probably wouldn't use it in a tanning bed because it might get some oil on their precious plexiglass... TIP: Shake the bottle really well before using, then tap the bottom on the countertop or your hand really firmly--that way, there's no "splash out" when you first open the bottle!!" LOVE THIS STUFF!!!!!
