Does it support monitor mode? Packet injection?

Yes, it supports monitor mode, packet injection and AP mode. This is pretty much the gold standard for Linux dual band adpaters.

Anyone use with a M1 Mac?

It is not compatible with M1 Macs at this time. It is also not supported for Mac OS 11. A Mac OS 11 driver is in the works but we are not yet sure it will support M1 or just Intel.

Why doesn't this work with a linux vm?

You need to install the drivers. Use the Alfa website and follow the instructions provided to install the drivers on the flavor of Linux you're using in your VM.

does it work with metasploit?

Yes, will work. Install the driver in the OS where meta is installed
