How often are you supposed to change out these accessories?

I have read they can be changed about every 6 months if you wish to do so, but they definitely last longer than that if you take good care in cleaning and storing. I used them on a daily basis for over a year and a half and only changed the lip valves twice for preference as they are delicate, but never had to change the tubes or the pots!
