Great retrofit for an old penlight
I discovered an old penlight in my stash of junk. With a pair of AA batteries and an incandescent bulb it was pretty dim. Not quite useless but not something I'd reach for if I needed a light. In the last few years I've come to dislike incandescent bulbs for general illumination. LEDs are brighter, more energy efficient, and last a lot longer. As a result, even though this penlight is a useful size and seems tough as nails (it has an all steel body), it sat unused. One day I took it apart on a whim and, after some detective work, discovered that the bulb was an E10. This pack of 10 bulbs was the least expensive option for LED bulbs so I ponied up $8 and waited a couple of days. The bulb dropped right in and, with a freshly-charged pair of AA batteries, the light is WAY brighter than with an incandescent bulb. It's about as bright as any of the other AA/AAA penlights that I've seen. It's quite useful for small repairs and task lighting, and it fits unobtrusively in a pocket or tool bag. It isn't a flashlight but it can do a lot of flashlight stuff in a pinch-- I've used it to walk around in a dark backyard, for example.I bet there's a lot of these penlights sitting unused in junk drawers everywhere. Adding an LED bulb converts them from another piece of obsolete technology to a useful tool. Now I have to keep from buying every old garage-sale penlight I see. I DO have another 9 bulbs, after all...

Works with Flinn Lamp Receptacles
I bought this for my science classroom for Flinn product AP9058. It works perfectly! The LED lights are bright and screwed in exactly right. The only issue, which isn't really an issue at all with the product, is that I tried to use a 9V battery to turn it on like I do the incandescent bulbs. It burned it out immediately (duh...). The max voltage is 3V, and it needs very little current to turn it on. It was useful because 2 AA batteries worked well to test the semi-conductivity of silicon, whereas an incandescent bulb needs a 9V to have enough current.

Worked for the replacement of 3 bad incandescent bulbs
A real value for the money. Only drawback is you have to reverse the polarity of the battery compartments on the units you use these LED bulbs with. They are real bright and i like that feature.

Have reverse polarity.
The bulbs work just fine, but I spent quite a long time trying to figure out why my vintage lighted pocket magnifier wouldn't work after I replaced the bulb with one of these. I checked the bulbs, the batteries and they were good, but the light still didn't work. Then I noticed that when I touched the positive point on the bulb to the negative contact on the light and the negative to the positive, it worked. I took the batteries out and put them in "backwards" and the light worked. I looked it up and it seems LED bulbs have reverse polarity, so keep this in mind if your light doesn't work after replacing the bulb. Hopefully his might save someone the frustration and time I went through until I figured it out.

Exactly what you would expect, as advertised. For the price a great value.
Be sure of the voltage for the application. Will not work if the voltage is not the same as indicated.

LED polarity is backwards
Got these replacement bulbs for a lighted magnifying lens. Bulbs are bright and well made but the polarity is backwards. Couldn’t figure out why they wouldn’t work, but then did some troubleshooting and found that the polarity was wrong. Simple oversight and normally not an issue with incandescent bulbs but very important with LEDs. Would have returned or replaced but return shipping is more than the product actually cost.

Brilliant - X2
I purchased this set of bulbs to replace the old incandescent GE222 bulbs in a beloved Tripp Lite pen light set with many accessories. This pen light kit is powered with two AA batteries in-line; ergo a 3 volt application. The first two photos are of the overall pen light set, which is very handy for multiple uses. The set dates back to the '90's. The third photo is of a new GE222 incandescent bulb with two new, fresh AA batteries. The last photo is with the LED bulb in the same pen light with the same two new AA batteries. Judge for yourself. Photos were take against a clean, white background; i.e. poster board with only ambient ceiling lighting. So yes - these are a direct replacement for the GE222 incandescent bulb.Good value for input. 10 of these bulbs for my application will last the rest of my lifetime. Brilliant!Afternote - sorry, the photos are not portrayed in the order which they were uploaded. But not hard to figure out which is which.

Bulbs
Thought I could use this in my test light but to my surprise it wouldn't work it's only rated 3 volts so no it would not work.
