Nice strop and good deal.
Very nice strop. And works well. I was hoping for something a tad larger, but is is sufficienlty large and works well. Others I'm sure will think it's plenty large. The compound is also nice to have and to put that final bit of edge and remove the burs. Good quality leather.

great product great value
I thought stropping a sharp knife was a joke. I had difficulties getting that ultimate edge on my knives but this product is unreal. Easiest way to put that final edge on a knife and it is so easy. Highly recommend to anyone. If you can't get that razor sharp edge you are doing it wrong or you didn't get it prepped (sharp enough) correctly. I can't compare to other strops but don't need too.

Wonderful strop at a very good price.
Some reviews say it is too small and a few others say the strop just isn't of high quality. I could not disagree more. Mine is absolutely what I needed, since my old one finally did wear out. If you only sharpen large kitchen knives, then a larger strop would be ideal, but I have used it on small pocket knives up to large knives and cleavers and have achieved great results. For the price and quality, I would give it six stars if I could.

Nice Introduction to Stropping
I’ve previously sharpened my knives with a WorkSharp belt system with good results. I have never used a leather strop for sharpening, but wanted to try it and see if it results in an extra degree of sharpness above what I achieve with the WorkSharp. I mainly sharpen my EDC folding knives (Kershaw, Benchmade, Civivi, CRKT, and others) and don’t really get into kitchen stuff, etc. First, this basic strop from Hutsuls is easy to use, even for a novice. I polished up the smooth side with the included green stick and went to work. Maintaining the proper angle gets easier after a few strokes, and I mostly did about 20 strops per blade side. You get into a rhythm quickly and then check the results. My first knife was a CRKT Pilar and the Hutsuls transformed the blade! Tried the ol’ paper test and it sliced it to shreds in seconds. Wasn’t sure if I could feel the difference or not, but after stropping, the difference is there. Great care is necessary to avoid cutting yourself once you’re finished. One note: on cheaper, softer steels, getting a razor-sharp edge is easier and quicker than with D2 or some of the super (harder) steel types, which took more than 20 strops in most cases. That only makes sense I guess. I bought the leather-only strop without wood block or wood handle for portability. I’m glad I did since leaving some space at the ends without polish easily helps hold the leather in place while stropping. And the whole kit fits nicely in my canvas shoulder bag that I use at the campsite. Best use of ten bucks for sharpening my knives that I’ve ever made!

Nice thick strop
As advertised measured out to be the right size when delivered. Nice and thick should last for awhile I'd buy again.

Good, good stuff.
Someone from the company wrote me a hand written letter on that yellow legal paper asking for me to leave a review, and also he gave me a contact if I had any issues. I'm glad he did, because I totally forgot to leave a review. I used this product to repair a blade that I had SERIOUSLY abused. I used it to cut through 1/8" cardboard tube (imagine wrapping paper tube but like 10x thicker) that was wrapped in gorilla glue hot glue and 3/8" dia jute fiber. It was for a scratching post for my cats, but I wanted to wrap it around a table leg, so I cut all 3 feet of it vertically with my EDC knife. Well that same night I ordered a new knife, as well as this product and a few others. I figured my knife was done. But after a few days my stuff arrived and I got to work. I used a rough sharpener, like one of those EZ-knife sharpeners with the V-shaped carbide cutouts. That helped. Then I went to my old trusty whetstone, also good. But man once I put the leather to it that thing got SHARP. Since I already got myself a new knife, I gave the newly sharpened one to my girlfriend, and she carries it every day. For this product I'd guess I'd recommend it for the final touches on a repair, or for a good edge after honing. But boy does it ever work great. Especially with some compound. I'm no expert on sharpening, but I've had good results. 4.5/5.

Stroppy Thing
It's just as you expect it to be, think it will last a long time, perhaps a tad expensive coming from America, the exchange rate to Uk not very good (2021) but it works well.

Great product
Great little strop. My knives always come out sharper. It's big enough I'm gonna split er down the middle and glue a smooth side to a piece of wood and a rough side to the other side of the wood. Maker er nice n sturdy.

Good leather strop
Good product, pricey. High price is likely due to the brand reputation.
