I have used routers, but am not what I would call a professional with the tool. I wanted to buy a wooden engraved plaque to display my wife and I, brother in law and his wife's name, at our trailer. Needless to say, this would have been a costly purchase. Since I had a router, that was underutilized, am retired and had plenty of time to experiment with this sign making template, I decided to give it a try. I must say, my first attempt worked flawlessly and not only was my wife impressed but so was my brother in law. My sister in law is yet to see my artwork, but will once we open the trailer this Spring. I even added some decorative engravings to the lettering. I colored the letters and designs with magic markers, stained and polyurethaned it. I'll be the hit of the trailer park and am looking forward to taking orders this summer. I have since bought other Milescraft products and found them all simple and worthwhile. Hope to look at buying their panograph machine.

Great product. Have made a couple of signs already. Easy to use, just pay attention to what you're doing.
